62  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / Suggestions / Re: One catch-all JM forum would be better on: February 04, 2016, 10:47:28 pm
Can I make a suggestion as well? I notice you have child boards from the "No Better Than This" tour up since like, 2010. Why not hide those now and put up child boards for the "Plain Spoken" tour? So now it'll be easier to talk about specific shows in this tour. Or, is there just not enough traffic to organize it like this?

Shocked That sucks!! I hope it's not too much shorter... that's just like teasing all the diehard Mellencamp fans! Well hopefully he'll come back here on another tour and play at a better venue. Regardless of all this, I'm excited anyways. I heard that Soaring Eagle is nice.
I'm just so happy his still touring at his age. With all the recent deaths with great musicians (Glenn Frey, David Bowie) I'm really considering John Mellencamp being among some of the luckiest people alive. He is just so classy and cool lol.
64  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / The Band / Re: Current Members Of John's Band? on: February 02, 2016, 08:52:15 pm
Oh thanks so much! I knew Andy, Mike, Dane, and Miriam, but I didn't know the others.

OMG That sounded hilariously awesome. I've never been to the Soaring Eagle Casino (mostly because I'm underaged lol) But you guys were speaking of an OUTDOOR concert there. Will John be playing outdoors this time, or do they have an indoor concert hall? I sure hope it's indoors, because John knows very well how unpredictable Midwestern weather is, especially in April loL!

Thank you so much! I will give them a call then. It'll be great to see John Mellencamp back here in Michigan!

Is this an all ages show?
68  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / The Band / Current Members Of John's Band? on: January 31, 2016, 01:29:15 pm
I know I'm a diehard John Mellencamp fan but I must admit that I forget his member's names from time to time lol. Who are all his current band members (2016 lineup) and what do they play? I'm sick and tired of guessing lol.
69  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / All About John / Re: John's "Plain Spoken Tour" on: January 28, 2016, 06:46:18 pm
Oh oh oh you HAVE TO GO you will NOT be disappointed!!!!! I will give you the lowdown!
So I saw John live for the first time last year in Detroit, Michigan (I'm only 16). The show is INCREDIBLY intimate. He's playing in little theaters and auditoriums so it's smaller and more personal. That's what makes it better! I was in the 4th row but I was fortunate enough to sneak into the CENTER of the FRONT row. Right in front of John's microphone. He is so kind and fun to his fans- he touches hands with nearly everyone in the front row (he touched my hands 3 times, dance with me, and even spoke to me). So if you're a diehard fan like me, you literally cannot resist his shows. It doesn't even seem like Mellencamp is 64. The only thing that gives it away is his looks, but he still looks good!
As for his voice and the music- it's still really, really catchy. His voice is a lot raspier now so if you're expecting the John Cougar days you won't exactly get it. Just look up videos of recent shows to get the jist of it. He's older, more mature, but it's far from worse. It's a rock show for crying out loud, how bad can it be? Cheesy You won't be able to stop dancing once the music starts.
I have a copy of the setlist he did last year. He did a lot of new songs on his new album, and a lot of old ones too. He even remixed a few but they sound way, way better (after 30+ years of playing the same song, it's time for a change lol!)

1.) Lawless Times (opener song)
2.) Troubled Man
3.) Minutes to Memories
4.) Small Town
5.) Stones in My Passway (Robert Johnson cover)
6.) Human Wheels
7.) The Isolation of Mister
8.) Check It Out
9.) Longest Days
10.) Jack and Diane
11.) The Full Catastrophe (remixed with just piano)
12.) Away From This World (Ghost Brothers of Darkland County)
13.) Tear This Cabin Down (Ghost Brothers of Darkland County)
14.) Overture (just the band, a break for John lol)
15.) Rain On The Scarecrow
16.) Paper In Fire
17.) If I Die Sudden
18.) Crumblin' Down
19.) Authority Song
20.) Pink Houses
(Band introduction squeezed in here)
21.) Cherry Bomb (last song)
70  MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Announcements & Updates / Re: JOHN MELLENCAMP RESUMES THE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED PLAIN SPOKEN TOUR IN APRIL 2016 on: January 25, 2016, 07:57:58 pm
I'm SO EXCITED but... a little disappointed at the same time. He's not playing in Michigan. Why not? That upsets me. He's not even playing in Ohio. The closest place is Indiana, which is a 4 hour drive. I mean, I'll do anything to see him live but now things are getting too expensive for us. Can't always get what ya want, I guess.
Still, I'm very happy he's continuing this tour. I'm so happy he can still do what he does at 64. He's a true legend and I love him! I'll TRY to make it to that Indiana show. I've never seen him live in his home state... is it different there?

72  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / The Band / Re: Larry Crane's Book on: January 21, 2016, 11:07:37 pm
John really sounds like me. I have the ability to just stop being friends with someone in the snap of a finger if they piss me off, even close friends. I don't know, I guess I've just learned not to trust people. But I trust John! Wink Cheesy
73  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / Articles / Re: Inside Christie Brinkley and John Mellencamp's Hot New Romance on: January 21, 2016, 11:05:17 pm
LOLOL YEAH I wish too haha! Thanks for your kind words, you made me laugh tonight! Cheesy I think it's so funny how you married somebody and they look like John... sounds like something I would do when I'm older haha! Love crazy Mellencamp fans like myself!
74  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / The Band / Re: Larry Crane's Book on: December 19, 2015, 01:08:13 am
He's got a book? Never knew! What's it about; is it a biography of himself?
75  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / Introduce Yourself / Re: JM Tribute band needs help on: December 13, 2015, 07:38:04 pm
If you have time to play here in Detroit, Michigan, please do so! Detroit rock city! Motown! We love rock and roll here. I saw John live he this year at the Detroit Opera House. Maybe you can try going there. Or the Royal Oak Music Theater in Royal Oak is also good. I also think the Michigan Theatre of Jackson, Michigan is cool, too, it's very old though.
