Oh that sounds AWESOME! I've never been to Indiana even through I share a border right here in Michigan. But I REALLY hope to someday! I've been planning to in a couple of years when I get out of high school and learn how to drive and get a job.
It's so awesome that you got something displayed at SICA! Did you go to Bloomington? It's right next to Seymour and that's where John Mellencamp lives. He lives on lake Monroe. I think it's so great that John never forgot where he came from and stays here in Indiana. Gosh I love that guy! <3

You know, John Mellencamp is underrated. That's no new news. But, being such a big fan of his, I wanted to seriously do something about this. I've bet on many forums, seen him in concert, and talked to hundreds of John Mellencamp fans. And one thing remains consistent between them all:
They all love and appreciate John and his music because he changed their life.
And I want to make more people aware of just how much John has changed our lives, and why. Listen, I just want to connect with other Mellencamp fans here. This is what this whole community is about, is it not? Let us all appreciate the man here and express why we love him so much. I love being a Mellencamp fan, not only because I love the man himself, but we're the most loyal and coolest fans! (John Mellencamp fans are special and we know it!)

Hah! I can relate to the awkwardness in those meet and greets with other artists- but it is very disappointing for me since I am young and I haven't even been a fan before 2007. So I missed out on every opportunity to meet him. But I've had many great experiences at concerts, so I suppose I'll try catching him before/after a show. Seems like the best option. Hope he tours here again so I can get that chance! Thanks for clarifying.

Now, I live in Michigan, and I know he's currently about to tour in Australia. But I got a question about VIP Passes in general, at any concert in any country: Do they allow you to meet John and the band? I ask this because some sources I read were very unclear and not specific enough. On his previous tour here in North America, the VIP Passes specifically said that you cannot meet the band, but I just want to make sure.

I also would like to know... if it is true that you cannot purchase a VIP Package and meet John and the band, then how do fans ever get to meet him? I have seen tons of fans who are able to meet him throughout the years. It must be possible. How else is it possible, if there ARE any other ways?

I'm 16 but "Your Life Is Now" is my favorite John Mellencamp song!! I've read books and paid close attention to the song. The song was mainly about his heart attack, since John had one and he knew many others who had them. He co-wrote it with his buddy George Green, incorporating John's typical blue-collar themes into the song. The song is literally a message saying, "Your life is now, do what you can before it ends" essentially.
I remember watching an interview on YouTube where John speaks about the music video. I can't recall what it was, but I'm sure it's still on there if you research it a little bit. From watching the video, I think the main girl in the video marries somebody and in the end she unexpectedly dies, though in the last second of the video she springs up back to life, hence why she gives a peace sign. I think the video just goes with the lyrics. It's a rather sad music video, but John's later work has been known to show the darker side of things, as he supports the common man and works towards peace and whatnot. I think the video is up to the viewer's interpretation.

Well, I admit, some of the questions were pretty hard if you haven't read up on him a lot or watched all his interviews. I'm thinking about making a quiz solely based on his songs next.

Happy Birthday, John! I drew a little birthday drawing for you! I don't know how to draw anything but dogs, so I drew a drawing of what I'd imagine you'd look like as a dog! (Border Collie, Pit Bull mix) I hope you like it, because I spend long time on it! I also wanted to be extra creative, so I carved a pumpkin with your name on it, and I just recently learned how to sew so I sewed together a little banner for you that you can see is hanging on the wall!

Somebody BROKE IN and stole your MELLENCAMP collection? That's odd (and sucks). I have John's autograph in my room right beside my bed. It's in a little frame and easily accessible in case of a natural disaster or something... Lololol and I have 4 dogs, 2 of them are pit bulls and my dad gas 3 guns... So nobody's stealing my Mellencamp stuff 😂
I hope you can find some of those missing /stolen things again. Only a heartless jackass would break in and steal things.

John is so talented!!!!!!! As an artist and musician myself, I find him very inspiring! I'm so glad to see that his art is being displayed.

I knew about it. I wasn't surprised that he found another stunningly beautiful woman, lol. He's so funny, because he sings about being in a small town and stands for the common man- and yet he's dating all all these famous models and actors. I like Family Guy, so I wasn't mad that I watched an episode, but I was mad that they misled us into thinking that he was in the episode. They posted last night that he was going to be on the Season Premiere on Facebook, and they got a million complaints about him not making an appearance... Lol I went back on Facebook this morning and they deleted the post... I ain't mad at them! I know mistakes happen! But why can't they just clear up this misunderstanding instead of leaving us hanging? Maybe I'm just just over-thinking all this l, I don't know. Oh well.
