"Kylie Brown and Kate Ferber are equally dynamic in their parallel roles as the femme fatales from the two eras, Anna Wicklow and Jenna Farrell, respectively..." – Bloom Magazine

JOHN MELLENCAMP NOMINATED FOR SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME
The 2014 slate of
nominees for induction into the
Songwriters Hall of Fame were announced on October 10, 2013. The organization, which is dedicated to recognizing the work and lives of those composers and lyricists who create popular music around the world, holds annual elections to determine those who will make up the roster of inductees for the following year.
Longtime Rolling Stone contributor Anthony DeCurtis commented on the singer – “Mellencamp has created an important body of work that has earned him both critical regard and an enormous audience. His songs document the joys and struggles of ordinary people seeking to make their way, and he has consistently brought the fresh air of common experience to the typically glamour-addled world of popular music.”
Eligible voting members will have until December 16th, 2013 to turn in ballots with their choices of three nominees from a non-performer and two from a performer category. For information to join or renew as a voting member before November 18th in order to participate in this election, please go to

THE PAINTINGS OF JOHN MELLENCAMP ON VIEW AT THE BUTLER INSTITUTE OF AMERICAN ART
The Butler Institute of American Art is to present the exhibition "
The Paintings of John Mellencamp"
November 3, 2013 through January 12,
2014. This show, which will feature some forty paintings, some never before seen by the public, is the artist's first art museum exhibition. According to Dr. Louis A. Zona, Director and Curator of the Butler, "In choosing these works, mostly portraits, I am interested in the dialogue between Mellencamp's work and the Butler's more traditional collection of 19th- and 20th-century American art by masters including John Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer, and Raphael Soyer. John's work is beautifully executed and speaks of themes that are universal. He has very strong opinions, be they sociological or political, which are right up front in these works. They're incredibly fascinating studies" Read the complete press release

.
The Paintings of John Mellencamp
will travel to the Museum of Art-DeLand, Florida, where it will be on view from October 16, 2014 through January 4, 2015. Plans are being finalized for the exhibition to travel to additional museums.
A full-color catalogue with an essay by Hilarie M. Sheets, a contributing editor to ARTnews who writes regularly for The New York Times, will accompany the exhibition. In her essay, Sheets, writes," Mellencamp's "discovery of early 20th-century modernists including Chaim Soutine, Walt Kuhn, and particularly the German Expressionists Otto Dix and Max Beckmann pointed the way toward a visceral, pared down approach to portraiture".
