Emerging from backstage, Indiana's man in black strolled to the microphone with typical aloof swagger, launching into a loose but defiant Authority Song, followed by a rugged version of No One Cares About Me. Well, someone does. Girlfriend Meg Ryan roamed both sides of the stage snapping pictures of him and the giant crowd.

I think he gets in his car and goes out to eat. Him and MR were seen pulling up to a restaurant by autograph seekers.

Meg Ryan, John Mellencamp staying in Calgary

 By Rocker John Mellencamp and actress Meg Ryan are staying in a downtown Calgary while Mellencamp plays some theatre shows across the Canadian west, a source confirmed to the Herald on Friday.,

. As of Friday morning, the couple had been based at a “special room” in a downtown hotel and were keeping a low profile. When they do travel they are usually surrounded by security, the source said.

Mellencamp was scheduled to play Regina’s Conexus Arts Centre on Friday and Saturday. He plays Winnipeg’s Centennial Concert Hall on Sunday. He has no shows scheduled for Calgary, but did play Edmonton’s Jubilee Auditorium last Saturday.

Too bad John could not get to Calgary this tour.

The thoughtful message song would have been lovely but for the continued outbursts and moronic whistling.

He was present for the event, together with his father Richard. More about it in this article from the Indy Star.

He must have left for Canada right away after this. A woman saw him leave on a private plane shortly after, together with Meg Ryan and her young daughter.

And it seems he made it back in time for the concert that evening. Wow.

That's great. Very sad about his friend Bill though.

John is going to play April 15 in Edmonton and then fly to Indianapolis after the show. His 30-minute performance in Indy is at 4 pm on the 16th, which is 2 pm Edmonton time. He is then going to fly to back to Edmonton for the show that night at 8:30.

That is crazy.
