The code says invalid?
My understanding is that the password will not go in the box at the top of the page for a promo code but rather somewhere else that will appear on the ticket purchase page once the event goes on sale. So we should wait until 10:00 then and the 9:45 pre-sale is completely invalid? As is explained on our main ticket article, we reveal our presale password at 9:45, the presale itself starts at 10 AM LOCAL time.

No, I didn't think that there were private messages anymore.
I think my whole family may be going to the pittsburgh show, so I may end up not going for the best seats, so I might need another show to do up close and personal if possible.
Yes you can still do personal messages. There is an icon under each person's name over on the left below where their avatar can go.

MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Ticket & Tour Questions / Re: Is there a second leg of the tour and if so does it include a stop in New York??

Hi Tony, I was hoping to see a stop in New York but the closest is Pittsburgh, way tooooooooooooo far. I was wondering if there were any plans here or closer than Pittsburgh. Thanks, I'm really going to miss CCB Irene As was mentioned in the tour announcement, the tour is expected to extend through Spring 2011 so there are more legs expected. I am told that the tour should have around 60 shows with 15 or so announced so far. I expect more tour announcements in time for holiday gift giving season tickets with shows starting in Jan/Feb for the second leg. Make sure you are on our mailinglist for announcements!

I just joined the 'community' in hopes of finding the pre-sale code for the nashville show, but I can't find a link on his tour page to buy tickets for the nashville show. Anybody know what i'm doing wrong?
See the home page article that lists all of the passwords, if you are logged in on the TOUR page the passwords will appear in the proper column. Nashville's is americanfool

MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Ticket & Tour Questions / Re: Casper WY concert

Awesome concert in Casper last night! I traveled there from CO and am very happy that I did! What a great small venue to hear you play--loved it!
However, I (we) were disappointed that John did not return for an encore and also that he only played for about 50 minutes(?) (seemed short) I know he was not the headliner so the short set makes sense, but, I did read that he played an encore at other sites so I was wondering what happened last night? It would have been great to hear more music, especially the Authority song.
Hope you schedule a Colorado show or two in your uncoming tour. Northern CO would be great!!
Thanks for the great music last night.
John was only slotted by Dylan's team for the time that he played. Also John doesn't really play encores. He really never has. He feels they are silly and staged. Typically the band goes sidestage, John says a few works, intros the band and then they close with a song (this time Authority Song).

Tony,
I bought the tickets through Ticketmaster with the code, but the ticket printout says "IUB student ID required". I didn't see a student requirement in the process, did I miss something?
Ignore it according to what Mellencamp Tour Management was able to find out. Some of the IU tickets are being sold discounted to students, THOSE will be the ones who need the ID and I think they were all $25. It was a setup error that printed that message on your tickets.

MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Ticket & Tour Questions / Re: Camera Policy
|
on: August 12, 2010, 10:02:17 am

Are small point and shoot cameras allowed at the shows, or is it according to venue? I would hope to think they are all becoming more lax with all the fancy phones out there today.
Thank You!
It always starts with venue policy, because no matter what we say what the building managers tell their security people the night of show is what happens. However in the past few tours John and his staff has loosened up allowing non professional cameras to be used at shows. However use them sparingly, don't take hundreds of pictures, it can be very annoying to John & band, especially if you are up close. Also don't use flash, it doesn't improve the picture in a concert situation and just proves to be a distraction. Again this is for NON professional cameras (aka small/portable or cell phones). Cameras with big zoom lenses or detachable lenses are going to probably draw attention and might end up with security coming over to you. Now I DO NOT know what our policy will be on the fall tour. It is best to ask me about a week before the first show. Things could be different in theaters this time compared to arenas or outdoor amphitheaters.
