916  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / Polls / Re: Which Song From NBTT do you want to hear live? on: August 20, 2010, 02:42:33 pm
That said, I absolutly ADORE "Right Behind Me", one of my favorite JM songs of all time.  I wish I was listening to a whole CD of that. I am a little disappointed that it was the only song from the Robert Johnson location that made the CD, I wish there were more with that sound.   I can just picture JM and the band, the way they play Don't Need This Body, with that plunking guitar and Mirian's fiddle, and everyone leaning in, at once, to say my favorite line in the whole CD................."NO!".  Every time I hear that part, I laugh out loud!

Someday The Rains May Fall from the NCIS 2 soundtrack is also from the San Antonio sessions.
917  MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Tech Support / Re: Picture Upload? on: August 20, 2010, 02:41:41 pm
Tony,  Took a pic with my phone at FYE of the postioning of the new cd,
having a problem getting it to you.  Where should I send it?
Thanks.   Dolly

[email protected] is where to send it. We don't need to see the pics this time unless they show something weird/interesting/noteworthy.

919  MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Ticket & Tour Questions / Re: Question about tickets for IU Auditorium in Bloomington on: August 20, 2010, 09:46:19 am
I received my tickets today for opening night of the "No Better Than This Tour" in Bloomington, Indiana!  Smiley
However, I am concerned because on the ticket it says IUB Student ID required. When I purchased the tickets I saw no mention of that. Do you have to be an IU student to go to this event Huh
Help!!

Do not worry about the ID required UNLESS your tickets were $25. The IU ID is only for the student/cheap priced tickets which should NOT have been available through our presale.

John's tour management has already talked to the venue/box office and they said it won't be a big deal and not to worry.
920  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / Polls / Re: Which Song From NBTT do you want to hear live? on: August 20, 2010, 09:46:09 am
I heard him perform "West End" in Windsor a month or so ago, a more rocking version. JM always knows how to arrange a song. It kicked *ss. I love the Tavis Smiley version as well, more stripped down and organic. I cannot wait to see this theater tour!

Interesting, so West End live was an even more rocking version than the one on Tavis? Very interested.

C'mon people whip them phones out at shows and get it up on YouTube! Ha!
921  MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Announcements & Updates / Re: Share the Mellencamp.com Presale TODAY on: August 20, 2010, 09:41:58 am
Tony,

I bought the tickets through Ticketmaster with the code, but the ticket printout says "IUB student ID required".  I didn't see a student requirement in the process, did I miss something?

Ignore it according to what Mellencamp Tour Management was able to find out. Some of the IU tickets are being sold discounted to students, THOSE will be the ones who need the ID and I think they were all $25. It was a setup error that printed that message on your tickets.

I just got my hard tickets in the mail today and they also say IUB Student ID Required. I just emailed the Auditorium box office to ask about it. Since I'm local I'm hoping I can just stop by the box office - heck, I work just up the hill and across the parking lot, so it won't be a big deal for me - and exchange them for ones that don't say that! Or, maybe the Auditorium staff will be instructed to ignore it except on the student-priced tickets. I'll let y'all know what I hear back from them. If anyone else wants to contact them, their email is [email protected].

Do not worry about the ID required UNLESS your tickets were $25. The IU ID is only for the student/cheap priced tickets which should NOT have been available through our presale.

John's tour management has already talked to the venue/box office and they said it won't be a big deal and not to worry.
922  MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Ask Mellencamp.com / Re: Store Credit on: August 20, 2010, 09:38:49 am
How do us paid members from the old CCB site redeem our $40 credit in the Mellencamp.com store? I got an email about this a few weeks ago but the coupon code included in that email doesn't work. Thanks.

The email that was sent out 2 or 3 Friday's ago was a glitch. The true email should go out early next week. The email was the same but the leg work hadn't been done to put the codes in.

However that email went out to more people than those who were still paid members as of August 1st. Email [email protected] if you have more questions about it.
923  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / All About John / Re: John on NPR's "Fresh Air" tomorroow on: August 20, 2010, 09:37:33 am
It says "a musical retrospective," so I'm not sure if this is a new interview or not.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=13

It's going to be a repeat of John's 2007 interview with some context added by the hosts about his new album.
924  MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Promote John / Re: No Better Than This - Retail Research on: August 18, 2010, 09:23:39 pm
I just completed the survey, but I realized after submitting it that I was not signed in as I came in directly from my email link. Will that mess anything up as far as proof that I completed it? If so, let me know and I can go in and complete it again. Smiley    I got my copy of the new CD from Best Buy, WDM, IA- They had at least 20 copies of the new cd @9.99 each. The cd was in the Sunday flyer and they had a nice promo of John at the entryway to the CDs.

Make sure you post in the thread that you completed the survey when you are complete. If you are picked to be a winner we can compare your IP address from your post on the board to your survey.

I didn't want to let the survey website collect ANY personal data on you all so that is why it doesn't ask for your email or user name etc.

Can you snap a picture of whatever the promo pic was? Or can you describe it more? It was something physically in the best buy store?
At the Best Buy I went to today the promo poster was the same picture that's in the upper left hand corner of this website, or at least it was from that same photo shoot -- you know the one that was from Interview magazine right after "Freedom's Road" came out. It's nothing new, it's been seen before.

Lets see some pictures of these displays snapped and posted here!
I was in my local Best buy last night & same poster/Photo on the End-cap of the cd section , it's about 4 feet high & a few feet wide & then there is a new cd release rack next to it  above the poster it has the quote "Cd's under $10"

926  MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Announcements & Updates / Re: Fall 2010 No Better Than This Tour Announced on: August 18, 2010, 09:19:25 pm
Hi Tony,

Are there any plans for concerts in the Baltimore/DC area?

Thanks a lot!

I can't speak for any city/market for sure at this point, except to say that future legs will cover the east coast, west coast and most regions of the country. Yes some cities/markets will get missed for whatever reason but hopefully a show will be within reasonable travel of everyone.

The next leg will be announced late in 2010 and with the shows being in early 2011.

929  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / Suggestions / Re: Who is not impressed by new website? on: August 18, 2010, 07:28:43 am
I do appreciate your reply and you are correct in your statements about the website. I can sense you are heavily involved in johns web presence and here is my opportunity to thank you for your efforts regarding this site! I have been a followerer of his website for the past few years and have seen you are am important player here! Without you the website would be lacking even more! Appreciate it and got second row seats in Minneapolis!

I thank you for your thanks for our efforts. While they may not always be as pleasing and to the complete satisfaction of everyone we try very hard to take good care and inform John's fans.

What I would love to hear are feature and technology suggestions for the site. Wishing John has a personal message for us every day is one thing, and one thing that isn't very realistic.

However there are other ideas that may be and I would like to hear them.
930  MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Tech Support / Re: Question on: August 18, 2010, 07:16:48 am
Thanks, Tony.  I seem to be liking the show unread posts method.  I just remember the lights on the old board not always working and occasionally missing new posts.

That step about mark all as read is a good idea too.  I'll do that after I finally get through all the reviews!

So far I haven't found any technical issues with post notification icons/lights so to speak. The good news is this board is far more up to date technologically than our old one which essentially was setup and then unchanged for 5 years.

I'll be honest, I have been so busy with the album and tour roll out I really haven't completely dug into all of the features of this new board.
