OK - that was kind of awkward considering the situation.  There were a couple discussions of "my wife Elaine"....and then mention of actress Meg Ryan.  I thought this would be a more current interview.  Weird.

And...

"deafer than Job's turkey"Huh??

What the.........?

I liked it very much. I have not been very happy with him lately with the whole "Meg" thing, but even though he and Elaine are getting a divorce she is still his wife. In addition, this was taped, I think, in early Dec. before the split was announced.

As far as his langange, "Job's turkey" and all, he often uses phrases such as these in his music. He is from the country and that type of language is very common in the country. I am from a neighboring state to Indiania and I have heard that phase a million times in my life. Using terms such as that does not mean one is uneducated, but just showing one's "commonness" in my opinion.

I was not insinuating he was uneducated.  I know this is a phrase used in his neck of the woods.  I was just giggling at the fact that he pulled another one out of his hat; and I love it when he does that.  He used "Boy Howdy!" as an exclamation in an interview a long time ago and my kids and I have used it ever since.

I also realize the interview and the divorce probably didn't happen at the same time....but he was not wearing his wedding ring and he's got the bearded look going on....so we are somewhat in the same time frame.  Just felt awkward to me; though I was glad to hear him speak of Elaine in loving terms.  But it makes me wonder even more what the heck happened.

Well that's interesting!!!  I tend to think you may be right....Job had a rough life.  I would think it would make more sense for his turkey to be 'dead' rather than 'deaf'.  Hmmmmm....have to 'Google" this one!

Welcome to the world of posting!
