Looking For JM Recordings From 1980s MTV

Howdy, all!  I was going to post this over in the Video & Audio section, but since it's not related to A/V online, figured I'd stick it here.

I'm trying to find people who recorded John Mellencamp material off of MTV back in the early 1980s.  It can be on VHS tape or Beta.  Basically, I'm trying to find recordings that include all the original VJs (if they talk about John during their segment, that would be awesome), and all the commercials, etc.  I would have thought footage like this would be easy to come across, but you'd be shocked at how difficult it is!  I thought everyone, back in the day, stuck at least one tape in the 'ol machine, hit record, and let it roll for four or six hours, hoping to catch "that one video".

Anyway...  if you've got some MTV tapes, even if they don't have any Mellencamp material on them, please drop me a line!  I'd love to hear from you and would do my best to make it worth your time!

Does anyone know if MTV broadcast any John Mellencamp concerts between 1981 and 1983?

I'm sure MTV did but can't put it out because of copywriter laws.  I could be wrong on that.  Maybe Tony can answer that with some details.
