Thanks Sharon.
Interesting setlist. Added a few and took out some. The number of songs is down.

I will be anxious to see if there is any tweaking to the list as these shows go on.

Stunned he didn't play "Save Some Time To Dream." This is now the "No Better Than This" tour in name only, as he's playing only one song from the album. Looks more like the Words and Music greatest hits tour setlist of '05 now, and as I suspected, with the move to bigger venues and the addition of an open act instead of the movie, he's back to playing the 90-minute, 18-song sets he played exclusively from 1994 to 2009. At the opening night of this tour in Bloomington in Oct. 2010, he played 24 songs, was on stage over two hours and played six songs from "No Better Than This."

Still, it's a great show -- "Love and Happiness" and "Ghost Towns Along the Highway" are both fantastic songs. I was hoping he'd thrown in a song from "Ghost Brothers of Darkland County" but maybe that would be too obscure and wouldn't work well outside the context of the musical.

This is a great set list.  It's a shame he is not going to play Coming Down The Road or Easter Eve.  I really wanted to hear them live.

I definitely am looking forward to his Abbotsford show though.

FANTASTIC setlist!!!!  Very excited to see Key West on there!  Looking forward to seeing how this setlist evolves, throughout the tour.  July 3rd in Moncton, NB, can't come soon enough!

Sounds like a good list. Glad he's keeping "Key West" in, such a great song. I don't know about anyone else, but it puts me in a weird trance (for lack of a better word) every time I hear it. Both versions do that (the Rough Harvest version being the other). It would be great if he'd add "No Better Than This", but either way it will be an amazing show.

This tour is just beginning, I am sure John will changing the list to keep it interesting. He always does. But I am glad he had Check It Out, Paper N Fire and Cherry Bomb, They are my favorites.

looks a great show, despite missing "West End".

is anything known about the opening set by the Cowboy Junkies?
they are a great band as well. the band´s leader Michael Timmins wrote this on their website´s tour diary:
"A little know fact is that John Mellencamp’s music was a pretty big influence on the band and an influence that we probably haven’t acknowledged enough. When we were putting together the songs for Trinity Session, Mellencamp’s albums Scarecrow and The Lonesome Jubillee were enormous hits. We listened to them a lot and his arrangements and use of fiddle and accordion was very inspiring, especially the way he used accordion. So we owe it to John for setting us off down a path that lead to Jaro and Jeff (who we initially contacted as a fiddle player). We are very happy to be along for this ride, it feels like another completed circle.

I was there for opening night in Penticton row 5 center, great seats ( thanks pre sale ! ) had a fantastic time dancing and singing along. Next morning had the pleasure to meet Mike at the Farmer's Market and thanked him for all the great music these many past years.
