you guess it...the show was fantastic!!! John and the band put on a great performance, they rocked the tempodrom.

at 8 the movie started. i think this has been discussed a lot before, today many people were bored and rather went out to have a drink.
anyway, John and the band came out on time at 9:20. the setlist was exactly as you know it, "Easter Eve" instead of "Right Behind Me".

John looked in great shape and was full of energy. his voice sounded great, and I think he enjoyed the show as well. the audience started to wake up when "Check it out" came, most people wanted to hear him playing the old hits.
for me the best song without doubt today was "The West End". John introduced the song saying that "The West End is the place I come from". what a song this is!

the band played simply fantastic, everyone did a great job, true professionals. Miriam of course stood out, so did Andy York who played like Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Brian Jones in one person. Jon E. Gee was great as well, looking cool with his sunglasses, like Apollo Creed playing bass. Troye, Dane and Mike stayed mostly in background, the whole band sounded fantastic. John can be proud of them!

the show ended at 23:20, exact 2 hours of all one could expect and a little more. for those interested, Meg Ryan was in the audience, Hud also supposed to be here.
after 19 years I am grateful of having the chance to see John live. today the dream came true, thanks a lot for this show to John, the band and the whole staff making it possible.

everyone who will go to Den Haag tomorrow, you will see a great concert! enjoy it!
I prepare for next weekend in London...

Hi, this is my first post here.

I went to see the show in Berlin. It was a great show, although I thought it would be little bit longer. 1 hour 55 Minutes is O.K. but after not touring through Germany for 19 years it could have been a little bit more.

Compared to the two shows I saw in 1992 - in Vancouver, Canada, and in Frankfurt, Germany - this show was very different, all three were great though.

I guess you all already have discussed the movie. I knew that there will be a movie instead of a support act and I kind of looked forward to that movie, but I never ever expected it to be 65 minutes long! That is - sorry I have to say that - ridiculous. I have never ever seen anything that or who was more self-importance or egomaniacal than this. 20 minutes would have been enough. I really got bored after 20 or so minutes, albeit I thought it was very interesting and Iīm a big fan. But for a regular "fan" who knows some of his hits from the radio this was way too much, I guess thatīs why some of them booed.

The show itself was very nice, lot of different styles but it seems he playes the same setlist every night. He should have played 3 hours like Springsteen does and bring some more of the older stuff. But I was happy with what I saw.

Hope to see you soon in concert in Germany - but next time please without a movie.

I donīt agree. what is the difference between a boring opening act and a movie? anyone can decide to watch it or go out and wait for the real show to start. the movie was about the tour and the making of the album, about america. I dont think that too many of us had the chance to get to know a lot about this before.

but the show itself is what counts and that was simply fantastic, I rate the show higher than the 88 or 92 shows.
and playing even more old songs? I did not wait 2 decades to hear the old songs, I wanted to see what music he does TODAY, besides his past albums are lightyears ahead of his early stuff. in my opinion the mix is right, and 2 hours full of firstclass music should be enough.

To be honest, I donīt need either an opening act nor a movie. But to make my statement clear: I thought the movie wasnīt a bad idea but it was way too long! If the movie just had the parts in it about making the new record and about America it would have been OK (and way shorter). But it doesnīt make sense to me to show video clips of live performances from songs you are going to see really live a few minutes later on a screen with real instruments in the background.

Iīm not saying that I liked the 92-tour better. It was just different and I liked both concepts. I think the mix of this tour is very good but wouldnīt it be nice if he had played a little bit longer, some more old songs AND some more of the newer stuff? His catalogue of music is so huge that he could have played at least full two hours and maybe 30 minutes more. The more I think about it, the more I think the concert was too short but maybe thatīs because Iīm used to the long shows from Springsteen;-)
