any comparision of artists is somehow stupid. they all are influenced by all and do their OWN thing in the end. dylan never was the new guthrie, as springsteen never was the new dylan, and mellencamp never was springsteen etc...everyone can listen and like what he wants, for me bruce springsteen has made great records and his live shows are unique. if i had to chose one, iīd always take john, but i am happy that a few more guys make great music.
btw, german rolling stone had a review of "Sad Clowns & Hillbillies" and gave it 3 and half stars, as they always do. and in the past issue they had a Q&A with john.

Facebook??? i have been thinking about where all the fans are, as discussions in this forum got less in the past years. I am not on facebook, so i stick to the forum here to get some information on whatīs happening. it looks like i always fall behind, it must be my fault. in the 80s/90s i was a member of the Minutes to Memories fan club. black and white newsletter magazines sent out by post to my home country germany. then the internet started to rule the world, and i registered here. but facebook never, i donīt understand this at all. so i just hope that this forum continues to exist and I donīt need snapchat for the next album release:)

Interesting, thanks for this info! "All Night Talk Radio" also sounds like 90s, I am not sure. "Mobile Blue" being a cover of an old country-song from 1971, this album seems to be a collection of various interesting projects. currently i only listen to the downloads, until the vinyl version is available here in europe. no lyrics, no info on nothing. my favourite songs after the first listening rounds: Mobile Blue, Battle of Angels, What Kind of Man Am I.

It sounds great! again an excellent album, Johnīs creativity cannot be stopped. when listeining to the opening track "Mobile Blue", I felt like back in 1987 when "The Lonesome Jubilee" came out. The band sounds fantastic, Carlene Carterīs contribution is worthy. I donīt care when a song has been written or recorded. there has been speculation on when "Grandview" was recorded. I think itīs good if a song like this now is published. maybe we can get some more details about this record and its songs here. and I hope i can get a vinyl copy soon.
Thanks a lot for this music to all involved!
