I agree with Tony and Walktall. You are mixing up your own imagination with reality. Take Walktall's advise and see a doctor because you obviously have issues to work on. And they're all yours, not John's.

Sheila, you misread my post or perhaps I was not clear enough. I'm sure John’s kids are the most important people in his life, and no doubt – fact – that Meg Ryan’s two kids are the most important people in her life too. But it’s also a fact that John has been spending a great deal of his time with Meg Ryan and her young daughter, more so than with his own daughters. That’s not so strange of course, since his daughters are all grown up. It doesn’t mean his own daughters are less important, of course not.

There is a difference between sharing your personal opinion and telling lies, pretending as if they were opinions, though.

But that's okay, my guess is most people here are smart enough to tell the difference.

I also would love for the real John Mellencamp to have a chance to see what some of his 'fans' have to say - whether it's a personal opnion or lies - about the two main women (woman and a little girl really) in his life. My guess is he'd have a big laugh about it since all this has nothing to do with his real life.  

Yes, sure sounds like the real estate company wants some publicity and let this one leak. I wonder if they lured Meg Ryan and John to the 20 mill apartment on purpose for that reason. Doesnt seem like a place they would like, but hey, what do we know? 

Makes sense for Meg Ryan to buy in NYC. She now rents at 30.000 per month in Soho and that's a waste of money since these days she doesnt spend a lot of time in NYC anymore. Buying an apartment is a better investment anyway.

I understand from this recent interview with Stephen King the actual play differs now from the version that was recorded in 2010. Any idea if that will influence the release?

Geegee - though just like the other poster I suspect your are known under another nick here - I agree with Walktall. Those things have nothing to do with eachother and I think it was brave that John went out there to perform only days after his mother passed away.

As for John and Meg Ryan, they look fine in these new photos from this past weekend.

Sorry, outside the US there is little to no interest for the Superbowl, so that was never the reason. like I said before: my guess is Madonna/her recordcompany offered her since they have a very expensive CD to promote. It's all commercialism at the Superbowl. Has been for years now. 

Sorry mellenfan, but there is NO international interest in the Superbowl. It is almost purely a US event. Soccer is what rules the rest of the world. So no way was that the reason for Madonna to do the Superbowl. My guess is Madonna offered herself to do it because she has a new CD/single to promote. Purely commercial interest. It's a shame, I think a lot of people feel they should have asked someone local.

And does 'a couple' always mean two? Don't think it's a fixed number ;-) Anyway his girlfriend sure didn't mind, she was right there at the event as were his sons :-)

'Huh?' indeed. Didn't see anyone in the video who resembled his ex. His girlfriend of over a year was there though.

Marylinb, leave me out of your prayers, I didn’t ask for them, I sure don’t need them, and I don’t want them, certainly not coming from you.  

As for Meg Ryan, if she wanted attention from the media, she could easily get it. She sure doesn’t need John - or any other man - for that. She is still way more famous than he is. Not to mention she’s super rich, probably has a lot more $$$ than John.  It’s obvious neither one of them is seeking the media’s attention. The only ones who have so far spoken about the relationship to the media are in fact John’s publicist and John himself.

She can do no right in your eyes, can she. No matter what she does, you’d always find something wrong with it. But then again I get the feeling this isn’t about Meg Ryan, is it? Seems to me this is all about John & Elaine’s divorce.....

Anyway, this thread was about John throwing a surprise birthday party for his girfriend. That was a nice gesture. That’s the last thing I’ll say about it. Have fun blaming Meg Ryan for whatever.

Her publicist hasn't been announcing anything to the media, sheila. The only time he spoke up was to immediatly deny the wedding rumors.

As for her getting media attention, marylinb, there is a reason for that: see, like it or not, she is wayyyyyyy more famous than John is. In fact, she's still world-famous, even though her career has faded. That means when she dates someone, the media will be paying attention to it.

Yep, he was married to Elaine for 18 years. And then he divorced her. Now he's with Meg. Better get used to it.
