The IndyStar is conducting a poll, asking who would be the best half-time performer for the Indianapolis Super Bowl (2012).

http://www2.indystar.com/marmot/view/poll/130/new

Choices are:

John Mellencamp
Pearl Jam
Henry Lee Summer
U2
Dave Matthews Band
Metallica
AC/DC
Justin Bieber
Other

i don't know if this poll carries any weight, or if it's just a 'curiosity' poll.  the article didn't really say, it just had a link to click on (provided above).

here is the link to the article:

With it being in Indy, how could it be anybody but John?

No offense to the other hoosier in the poll, but Henry Lee Summer, does not have the name draw for this type of event.

Now, the RR Hall of Fame Hoosier- John Mellencamp, that has a nice ring to it.  I really hope this happens and isn't John a good friend of the family that owns the colts- and i am assuming that same family has some % of ownership in the stadium.

And sorry ladies, I wouldn't bet on a wardrobe malfunction with John.

U2 have done a superbowl halftime and not that long ago either no else on the list is huge enough apart from John so with it being in his home state they have definately got to go for him if you ask me!

I have actually been thinking about this for awhile, if you have the super bowl in Indianapolis then you have to put John on at half time.  We shall keep our fingers crossed.

John would tear it up at halftime  Grin!  Being in Indy John should most definitely be the front runner. Now who would John have for a guest artist if any? Kenny Chesney, Willie Nelson, maybe Bob Dylan for a song or part of one anyways.

John played at some football game a few years ago....was it the opening game at the new stadium in Indianopolis, or was it a Super Bowl Game.  I want to say it was the year after the Colts won a Super Bowl?

It was the Colts season opener after they won the superbowl the previous season. So nothing like as big as the Superbowl and John is definately as big if not bigger than some of the previous superbowl perfomers so it is definately about time he got a turn and especially as the game will be in Indiana! I also have feeling that if they do go with someone else Most of Indiana and all JM fans might cause a riot at halftime!
