This one will have to be short and sweet gang because there was no Mellencamp.com staff at the show due to the snow storm.

We got reports from the staff & crew though to relay!

John, band and crew all made it to Lowell no problem.

After the break John returned with a revised setlist. We expect there to be some more tweaks to this from night to night as they dial it in to a comfortable spot. We don't have a clear grasp on what songs were done totally acoustic and at what point the more rock oriented set kicked in.

Here is what John played:

Authority Song

No One Cares About Me

Death Letter

John Cockers

Walk Tall

The West End

Check it Out

Save Some time to Dream

Cherry Bomb

Delia

Don’t Need This Body

Right Behind Me

Jackie brown

Longest Days

Easter Eve

Jack and Diane

Small town

Hymn

Scarecrow

Paper in Fire

The Real Life

What if I Came Knocking

If I Die Sudden

No Better Than This

Pink Houses

Rock In The USA

ENCORE

She’s So Tough

Traded a few messages with a few band members. The show clocked in at nearly 2 and a half hours.

She's So Tough is a Mink DeVille song from 1978. It was tried as a true encore and was pretty rocking and John killed it by all accounts.

It was a great night!  I've always wanted to see John's art and I didn't know that his paintings would be there, so it felt like the welcome mat was out before I even entered the hall.

The auditorium was old with creaky wooden floors and lots of character.  Someone came around and told those of us in the first 3 rows that the area in front of the stage was our dance floor for the taking!  Anyone seated further back was not so lucky but by the end of the show agile fans had no problem getting over seats to come down front.

John seemed like he was having a really good time.  He smiled and danced all night long.   The band was spot on as usual.   My personal favorites of the night were Jackie Brown and What If I Came Knocking.  Honestly, who am I kidding?  I loved every moment. The encore was not expected but seemed almost impromptu after he and Andy had exchanged a quick couple of words.  A great ending to what to me, was a perfect night.

Experienced MELLENCAMP show in Lowell last night.
Some of John's art work was nice to see walking in.

The movie just ended when we "finally" got there.

MELLENCAMP was  "AWESOME" being MELLENCAMP right down to his scruffy grey beard.

The band and Mellencamp seemed to be having a good time.
Mellencamp was smiling more than usual.

This concert was the first time since I've been going to his concerts (close to 30 yrs.)  that the audience was sitting down so much during his songs.

Mellencamp's new songs are really good.

He has so many older songs that I would love to have heard.

When he started " ROCKING " everyone was on their feet.

For the first time in years he took a girl up on stage to sing with him.
I was so happy for her.

It's awesome that Mellencamp allows pictures to be taken now.

We had seats in the 6th row.

I did get closer to the stage when everyone was standing and got some awesome pictures.

He had us singing Mellencamp songs long after the concert ended.

What a great show!!! I had front row center! John was amazing! He sounded perfect and was great with the crowd.
It was to funny when he told the annoying drunk chick and guy to pretty much shut up because they were having a conversation while he was telling a story about his Grandmother!

Pretty embarrassing... opened my laptop and discovered my earlier "draft" which was just a dump of information, was posted. I had gotten interrupted this morning, and didn't get back to it until tonight. I thought the last click was on "preview" Lesson learned and publicly!
