This is such a hard question, but for me theres just something about his self titled John Mellencamp album that is so good, I like all the violin.  Along with that album, Lonesome Jubilee, Mr Happy Go Lucky, Freedoms Road, Scarecrow, and No Better Than This are my favs.

I agree with Rich--every week it's a different album.  This week is Big Daddy in the car on the way to work!

I pretty much had to throw a dart at the screen to choose.  I'm listening to Rough Harvest right now, so that would be my current favorite, I guess! lol  Caution: Crazy One Changes Mind Regularly!

Rural Route 7609.  Because John selected the songs and the arrangement on each of the 4 discs.  The book is awesome too.  The entire collaboration tells a story, each disc to me is either, Life - Death - Love - Freedom.  Worth every penny spent.

I was 8 years old when American Fool was released and I saw John perform on shows for the first time, I was in love.To this day still my favorite album, because I loved that time in my life.

I always loved The Lonesome Jubille and never thought he'd top that one. When LDL&F was released I was just floored.
