Share your thoughts on John's participation in Record Store Day.  "Immersing yourself in the environment of a real record store where music is celebrated and cherished adds real value to the experience of buying music. In some ways, that retail experience is as important as the music." - John Mellencamp

I personally LOVE the fact that John participates and really believes in Record Store Day. He is so right about how the retail experience is as important as the music. Record stores are special places and there aren't many anymore. He's right, music truly is celebrated at record stores, resale shops are some of the best places to find music being celebrated because of the extensive vinyl selections as well as CDs and the passionate people who work there. It's evident that they love music and most people working at those stores are rather knowledgeable too.

Cool that he participates. I'd rather have a couple of previously unreleased songs made available on record store day though.
Previously released songs on vinyl are not very interesting to me.

I hear you. Previously unreleased songs made available are really great collector's items. They're extra special. Previously released songs don't have that "new" excitement as unreleased ones do, but at the same time, as a collector there is something neat about getting that RSD item regardless....well if you can find it!
