My bets are for a Spring release with a summer tour to follow. Fingers crossed. The new album will probably be released spring/summer 2014. In the meantime we can enjoy the Ghost Brothers sound track. There's some great stuff on the CD.

Thanks for this, made me smile at some of the points.
Have to revise or add to 3d. though: think a better example here might be " R.O.C.K. in the USA" - ughh. If only to bury that one....

MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Announcements & Updates / Re: Mellencamp Newsletter: Farm Aid Presale Wednesday

Come on John- Lawn Tickets were the best sets for your fans?? This has nothing to do with John. It has to do with a venue that doesn't have a lot of seats to begin with and then having the ticket split in a number of ways (Farm Aid, season ticket holders, artist fan clubs).
We said up front we had a very small amount of pre sale tickets that were in the reserved seats. I don't know if they are all sold or not but I would keep trying. If not try in the public on sale before settling for lawn tickets. I do know that all tickets offered via the Farm Aid presale (you had to be a member $50) sold out shortly after they went on sale. Good luck with the public sale, my fingers are crossed for you! Sorry if we disappointed, we figured it was better to offer even a small number of tickets than none.

NON-JOHN DISCUSSION / Music You Like / Re: Court Yard Hounds - round 2- new CD

thanks mitch, i had forgotten all about the court yard hounds. it took me awhile to remember them, but thanks to your posts, they are fantastic. and the harmony is super. these gals are a rare jewel
TCYH opened for John last year at a semi-private show in Bowling Green KY at the university's football stadium. I don't think one of the gals had revealed to the world that she was expecting, but on that pretty May day it was obvious as she had to adjust to play guitar and banjo I believe around her baby bump, they had a good laugh about it on stage. They sounded great. \ I agree, love their music, songwriting and they are just overall fantastic ladies!! Yes Tony I knew about that show and would have loved to have been there. Emily likes to joke that the CD release was delayed but "that's what you get when you get unexpectedly 'knocked up' "!! Heard through Dane that the show was awesome. Saw TCYH in Toronto a few years ago at a spur of the moment club gig with 30 people, since they had to test a new sound technician, before an Ontario festival engagement. Was truly a night to remember!
