Fighting spirit? lol omg! What, you want him to sue?? You cant copyright song titles. He does not own the phrase "jack and Diane". All he can legally do is show frustration.....

mellenfan common courtesy in wanting to use someone elses material is not too much to ask for. and that is what they should of done with john. and john deserves that kind of respect from others who are in the entertainment business or any other kind of business that would like to use what he created.

In showbiz: manners and courtesy are optional. They are aprreciated, but optional.

yeah its funny how people take advantage of another person. however, john could do something about this if he really wanted to.

this is cool. im glad you posted these. marilyn was quite a great artist. and it was still an honor for you to be there. as i said i still feel john should of been there. after all this was a tribute to his mom. i feel sorry for those who think otherwise.
just think if john was there you would of had a good chance to meet him

I assume you meant to ask if John wrote the song about their relationship -- obviously Elaine didn't write any lyrics -- but without knowing John personally I can only point you to what he's said in interviews. In the liner notes to "On The Rural Route 7609" he said that "Forgiveness" "might be sort of a love letter to Elaine." He spoke about it even earlier in an interview from 2007, right before "Freedom's Road" came out. i think john and chessny did just fine. seems like they were just laid back and relaxed and taken it easy  and having a good time.

what an honor!!! this is cool that you got to do this. and where was john??? he didnt show up for this?? how pathetic. this was held a day inbetween concerts in canada. from what i heard he made time to go visit mike in the hospital during the concert tour but john couldnt make time for this? thats real lame. and no there isnt any excuses for john to not show up for this show. hey john what is your problem?

wonder how elaine fits into all of this. shes the one that popped him out with johns help. i think she deserves some mentioning too. good luck hud.
