That was one of my favorite parts too, the Dalai Lama story! In my area, Homeward Bound was sopposed to run before Private Sessions and iat ended up being a Johnny Cash special. I watched the tailend of it and did see a short talk with John about Johnny. So it wasn't a total loss, plus I like Johnny Cash too.     But still, I was looking forward to a couple hours of Mellencamp.  LOL   We DVR'd it, so I just may have to watch both again.

Mary in Michigan, you crack me up!!! I love all those extra special versions we got off of the Rural Route release. I listen to my Mellencamp playlist on my MP3 player at work and I dunno, there is just something about having Mellencamp blaring in the ears. LOL  I could play these same songs over and over and over again. 

Hmmmm, very interesting. I love the new ink, but I like tattoos.  LOL   But when I seen him in KC and had him give me a bit of work on my arm, about the same spot as his new tat, I just wonder if he already had that. I mean, I don't recall it in KC or St Louis, but I guess I could have been a bit preoccupied.  LOL        And both times that I have gotten his sharpie work on my body, he knew I was getting it tattooed and never discouraged me from doing so. But I do remember him saying he never liked the tattoos he already had, so maybe now that he is older, he felt like getting something that he not only wanted, but something of significance. Maybe we will get lucky and he will touch on this subject in his A&E thing.

I agree KYRALEXIS, I love that photo too!!  No matter who he is dating, but glad this photo was of just him. And are ya coming to Ames??  I would love to meet you!    I am going to Omaha and Ames.

I really liked "Colored Lights" from the box set and the original versions of some of Johns songs that were on there as well. Very Cool!!!

John....and Meg are actually pictured on the cover of the People Magazine 1/17/11 with Valerie Bertinelli on the cover. There are a few pics inside as well, of both him & Elaine and another of him.....and Meg.

Everyone has a different way of dealing with things and maybe for John to joke about it, well, that is his way of getting through it. Although, I am a little confused on your words WILDNIGHT......you say you still like Mellencamp and wish them all the best but you have said some mean things in your post. Why isn't he a role model? And you refer to him as a grumpy old man who is waiting to die??? For real??  That is what you see??? If this split didn't happen, did you feel like this before, like Elaine deserved something better??  Wow, we all perceive things differently I guess. I disagree whole heartedly, right down to saying he is a strange individual.
