Filmed at The McKittrick Hotel in New York City in October 2014, John answers questions and discusses his early days as Johnny Cougar, his work with Stephen King, Farm Aid, his recently released new album Plain Spoken, and work as a painter. The Grammy Foundation will host the 17th Annual Grammy Foundation Legacy Concert Lean On Me: A Celebration Of Music And Philanthropy, at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre featuring live musical performances including Grammy winners Melissa Etheridge, Cyndi Lauper, John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson; current Grammy nominee Aloe Blacc; singer/songwriter Rozzi Crane; violinist/performance artist Lindsey Stirling; and Grammy nominee Robin Thicke; as well as other artists to be announced shortly. Carlene Carter is the special guest on all 80 shows of the Plain Spoken Tour. Carlene, daughter of country music legends June Carter and Carl Smith, stepdaughter of Johnny Cash, and granddaughter of "Mother" Maybelle Carter of the original Carter Family, has been said to have been born into country music royalty. She is a third generation member of the Carter Family whose pioneering recordings and songs were “ground zero” for American country and folk music. AMERICAN DREAMS: PAINTINGS BY JOHN MELLENCAMP OPENS JANUARY 11TH IN AUGUSTA GA
The Morris Museum of Art, located on the Riverwalk in Downtown Augusta, Georgia, will exhibit American Dreams: Paintings by John Mellencamp from January 11th through April 12th 2015.
The exhibit will include 50 oil and mixed-media paintings, including several never-before seen by the public. For more information on the showing, click HERE.
Mellencamp’s paintings have been exhibited previously at the Tennessee State Museum, the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio, and most recently at the Museum of Art in Deland, Florida.
