The piece is about photographer Normal Seef's memories of his first photo shoot with John in 1979. There is a photo from that session included (see it below). Seef's photos were first used as the cover of the John Cougar album and more shots from the session are used throughout the Words & Music greatest hits package and cover.

I was blown away by his vitality, too, i.e. opening for The Kinks in 1980. Best stage show, ever (!), but when you're singing to the choir, probably falls on deaf ears as we all know it to be true.
