61  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / All About John / Re: John and Meg Vacation in Maui on: October 13, 2011, 10:38:08 pm
I see these pictures. #1 John has both hands on bar of plane with a "thrilled" look?" #2 Is that John reaching out to shake hands with a man? #3 picture looks like John still has both hands on bar of plane #4 oh oh its the private jet, could it be that maybe John could be making the great escape?

Good one!
Yes it is.  In fact Tom Laughlin is still at it even today.  He is in his 70's now but you can check him out at http://www.billyjack.com

Old Dirty Harry, Chuck Norris, The Terminatior etc etc etc ain't no match for Billy Jack.  That is why I say we need a Billy Jack Revival in this country

He looks thrilled.

Being that he sees the camera pointed straight the him. I doubt he is thrilled

I would think that John would of responded to Meg inspite of the camera being there.  I have seen a lot of pictures of them together and seems like Meg is the one who does most of the first moves until John responds.

65  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / All About John / Re: John and Meg in NYC on: October 13, 2011, 06:29:29 pm
I wasn't being sarcastic. Look at the pictures yourself. I am a huge fan of John's, I see somethng not right even if you don't. I saw it with Elaine a few years ago. Sorry.
I agree shielafarmer. The reason its not right is because Johns past track record with relationships or marriages have been already proven not good.  And I feel that this is another "rebound or fix me."  Until that empty void in Johns heart gets healed no person place or thing is going to fix him.  Course I have already posted my posts concerning this issue in his life.  I had the same kind of life with men.  Its not a good road to trudge down on.  Only John can say "enuf is enuf."  Evidently John hasn't bottomed out yet when it comes to his relationships with women.  This looks like another one stopping him from doing that.  But John doesn't have to bottom out if he doesn't want to.  To not hit bottom would mean time out from getting involved with anyone, trust God and clean house.

I read a post from some girl who claimed she knew John from when they grew up with each other.  Now what she said on the post could be a rumor, becuz we all know that rumors live a life of their own.  She said John told her that with women he doesn't stick around one woman long enough and then he just bumps them off.  So looking at his past track record seems like she is telling the truth.

The only 3 stable women he had in his life  as far as she was concerned was his grandmother, his mother and Elaine.  She said that it was heartbreaking what happened with Elaine and the boys.  She mentioned that she told him this too.

Thats ok John, my prayer partners and I are still praying for you!!!

68  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / All About John / Re: It is only touching to me on: October 10, 2011, 11:13:59 pm
I think its fantastic!!!!
My mother who was born in 1917 in Napoleon North Dakota (now John, that is a small town, one even smaller where my dad was born in 1910 in Lehr ND.  Seymour would be considered a metro to these small towns) and she remembers when Lawrence Welk first started out up around those parts. When she was a teenager, she even danced with him.  Now she is 94, one lady to tough to die, she watches the old Lawrence Welk shows and she goes back in time.  My parents and sisters are all from North Dakota but not me, I was born in California the youngest, I am 56.  But I remember visiting the small towns of North Dakota and my relatives  still remember the good old days of Lawrence Welk before he became a big orchestra leader. And I must say now that I am older, I watch him myself along with my mom.
But like a close freind told me "fame is fleeting."
God bless you and your dad!!!

and yes John Mellencamp, my prayer partners and I are still praying for you

70  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / All About John / Re: Was he considered for the Superbowl Halftime show? on: October 06, 2011, 04:26:11 pm
My #1 heart breaker Tom Petty, The Boss, The Who, and the Stones already did their time with the Super Bowel. As for Prince, I really don't know and Madonna I think she was considered a couple of times before this.  I come from the hippy generation and the music is timeless and still meaningful even today.  I don't believe its too late for anyone from back then.
And it may be true that John and Madonna were at their peak then, but lets not forget the group U2.  They also played the superbowel.  Back in the 80's there were alot of good artists and good music.  But just like with my generation, in the music industry its a survival of the fittest to see if a group can keep going even today and in the future.  But once again every generation has their turn in the history book.

71  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / All About John / Re: Was he considered for the Superbowl Halftime show? on: October 05, 2011, 07:56:52 am
If the NFL thinks the Superbowl is a 'global' event, they're insane, sorry. It is NOT a global event and there is no real interest in it at all outside the US. Soccer is what rules the rest of the world  Grin

I think Madonna is just a really poor choice for this event. But I guess the NFL wanted someone really famous to attract extra attention or perhaps she even offered herself since she will have an album/single to promote right around that time...
I couldn't of said it better!!!!! But i wouldn't apologize for saying it.  Everything you said Rhonda I am right there with you. I am by no means a football fan, however, sometimes there are people who are just plain stuck on being stupid.  And the NFL really did just that by picking Madonna.
