Pickin up on ur u2 thread...bein of irish parentage the most popular band in ireland are "the saw doctors"..they tour the u.s.a every year..just completed a march stint..and goin back in august...they play the melody tent,cape cod,hyannas...davy carton and leo moran are big mellencamp/petty/springsteen fans...play a great 2hr plus show and can rock!..got a good website...saw doctors.com

All h.m.v stores in london stockin new album...oxford street and piccadilly hav back catologues...my local independent store has new album(bromley)...i keep naggin them 2 stock j.m's catalogue.

Im mark from london...i saw john at wembley arena 19 years ago...it was a brilliant show...my workmate julie was workin backstage.(catering 4 john and band)...we worked at oval cricket ground as well...she did all the big gigs ther 4 nigh on 20plus years...when i asked who wer the best artist:band she said "john mellencamp!..julie passed away in 2002...so when i go 2 the manchester and london il be thinkin of her!...minutes 2 memorys 4 me.

Bruce springsteen and john mellencamp shoud be on the same ball park!!...the 2 best ever performers hav consistantly proved themselves all nite!!...2 new albums from the boss in the fall...."running scared"(acoustic)...and "cloudburst"(e-st band)...also check out hyde park 09,london...stunning show!

As a fan of john mellencamps music from early 80's...iv never not liked john..hes consistantly briliant..never scared to take a risk...evolve...and write great songs...the new album is an americana masterpiece..already a classic...iv really missed john tourin england..im a london lad..and saw him in 92 at wembley arena...front row!...im a big bruce springsteen,dylan,petty,seger..keith urban
