1  MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Ask / Re: Can't Find Sat Night Live Performance 4/10/82 on: May 24, 2017, 09:16:14 am
I've looked for it several times myself.

I remember seeing it on SNL and thinking, "This guy sucks, and the song is dumb". Laying in bed the following night the song came on the radio and at school the next day I could not get that damn song out of my head. By the third time I heard the song, John was my favorite singer and has been since.
2  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / The Band / Re: Kenny Aronoff Autobiography Article on: March 24, 2017, 12:27:10 pm
Great article on Kenny. I miss him, wish he was still in Johns band.

I've often said that I look at John's career as two different eras: The Aronoff era, and the post Aronoff era. That isn't to be critical of anyone else who has played drums for John, I just really like Kenny and his sound. For me, Kenny's drums are a huge part of what made "American Fool" a great album.
3  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / Video & Audio / "Thundering Hearts" on American Bandstand on: March 23, 2017, 10:27:22 am
I just stumbled across this the other day, perhaps it has already been discussed here. But this is a great track from "American Fool". I had no idea he had performed it on Bandstand...
4  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / Trivia / Re: Are You A True John Mellencamp Fan? on: March 22, 2017, 03:25:56 pm
Disappointed! Only got 11 out of 15.  Smiley
5  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / All About John / Re: Lyrics to John's New Song "Easy Target" on: March 22, 2017, 03:12:04 pm
I think that all the years of cigarettes have taken a toll on his voice. Age is obviously a factor as well.
6  MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / All About John / Re: CMT Crossroads on: March 22, 2017, 03:08:31 pm
Not a huge Darius fan, but he's okay. I hate Chesney, so that Crossroads was hard for me to watch. This one I look forward to seeing. Did they do "Wagon Wheel" or any of the Hottie stuff?
