MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / Mellenmoments / Reisa's Mellenmoments
|
on: April 12, 2014, 12:33:23 pm

Today I didn't know what to do or where to go, and so I decided to play charlie sheen and come on with the knowledge of a certain problematic behavior and still expect to be heard and cared about. This morning I celebrated a continental brunch at a local deli here in my city. I knew that if other friends heard this behavior I don't know if they would still care to be my friends...however, I decided to go ahead with it, despite the fact that I am overtime early as to my schedule on this sight, Noone answers me, but I need to communicate with a listening public who just may have an understanding as to some of this c-r-a-p-s-h-o-o-t ...tumbling dice alternative, something that few would understand. It's almost a fear of the lack of control when it comes to anger verses kindness. Joni Mitchell has a mantra in her song "Don Juan's Reckless Daughter" "Inside my boltlocked door, the eagle and the serpent are at war in me- the serpent fighting for blind desire, the eagle for clarity. What strange prizes these battles bring, these hectic joys, these weary blues, Puffed up and strutting when I think I think I win, Down and shaken when I think I lose...." Sigmund Freud had his own way of putting it- Id-the animal inside us that gives way to anything that may be wanting expression Ego-the balance between the id and...the... Superego-the "parent", or else, the controls that we put on our behaviors that stop us from losing our tempers. John has ways to express some of this battle, and I have always enjoyed reading some of his comparisons.. First, as I said before, one song in "Human Wheels"..."What if I Came Knocking?" he explains the "c-r-a-p-s-h-o-o-t-s" and "...what could potentially happen if control did not overcome these outbursts. I had an outburst at one of our Mental Health programs Thursday evening, and my staff supervisor was, like, "Sh....please! WHAT'S GOING ON?" in time, I quickly whipped out my poem about ... my niece's graduation from high school, and the combination of her locker, which ... in its own way, signifies the following-"We have nothing to lose but our chains..." the chain combination is 9-7-2-1...and the dedication is to the beginning of the movie "Top Gun" starring Tom Cruise. She read it privately, and complimented it, and I was happy, and I thanked her. Another c-r-a-p-s-h-o-o-t averted. And of course, the verse I wrote myself in 1983, when I was battling my "screaming meemies" in other words, and the little verse went as the following- "It's just the way you're feeling today it's just a point in time, you may be hot, now, baby, cool down! I know the problem's mine!" How true! And we all know John's song from Lonesome Jubilee- "One man does his work, he's not satisfied, not at all- seems like he's feeling used, and his self respect starts to fall... His frustration runs very, very high, He takes it out on the ones he loves, 'Cause they're safe, and who they gonna tell? And he hates the coldbloodedness that runs inside..." And of course, his lovely mantra, "Mean"- "I'm not following your frame of mind, Complain about this and that all the time. Surely something good, as the world spins bye, Could you please stop being so mean?" These intersections are mainly my own Mellenmoments and I so much want to use them in my own treatment. I hope the webmaster, Tony, will understand and allow me to put them in print, visa vis an incorrect part of the community club's site. Hey...one less pill here and there, and no, it is not a joke. Thank you.

MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / Introduce Yourself / Set the Date by Reisa Gerber

Today I have been able to get to the bottom of my petty soul after three years on the site and although I am writing six days early, I can't continue without taking notice of an ache inside that just might rock a table or two in authority by a darkness that threatens me today. And you know, a few days in a mental health unit to work on your medications costs the taxpayers more than one thousand dollars a day...and considering that I am sitting on the couch in a good friend's home who just made a joke about 'being in prison with me in the same cell and being told that neither of us can be released unless we 'set a date'...' Now he says he's married to his two sunflower plants and they told him that 'they...would stop drooping and that they would thrive on the sill, because even plants have sex' and maybe 'Reisa is a vegetable' and asks me 'Aren't I having fun...and how he 'hates to miss the train, oh no...' he's 'feeling his sunflower up and he is going to fondle both of them and that'...'they are responding'. He can 'SEE IT RIGHT NOW'...and apparently, it's 42 degrees here in M- - - - - - - - -...And I was told that he is going to 'listen to the radio' because he can't seem to score with me'...but '...WHAT A T - - -!' And now he knows I'm writing something and it's 'a blank page'...because it's about the two of us 'doing it'... Yes, he is funny...however, as a social outlet that may surpass John Mellencamp's, being as 'he is overloaded', and I quote, let's just end with this- If we ever set a date for ... some impossible dream...like marriage, 'SURE'...I'll make it with the guy. G-d bless the sweetheart. Reisa L. Gerber

MELLENCAMP DISCUSSION / The Band / Re: New Lisa Germano Article

i am glad, so, glad to see Lisa Germano in an article assimilatingthe mix of a color that has alot of life in it that also reminds me that so and so shines alone and carries on herself in the genre of other things done and musically, then John Mellencamp. And she is the most beautiful woman in 'BIG DADDY', and her violin plays on...and I get restriction to oncea week in a non Mellencamp section of the Community Club...Ihave lyrics of my own, and, you betcha, they are alphabetically encoded right near Lisa's, and I can see them when I want to...and I swear it's the last time I write to people who treat me like a slave who cries past midnight, which will sing itself again, only on another site. 'BE WELL' to John and his luvverly Community Club.

NON-JOHN DISCUSSION / Games / Trivial Mellencamp Pursuit number 2/reisaloisgerber

Here is a new idea re: teenage dreamland of the early eighties/J. Mellencamp I.D./Game Plan/Trivial Pursuit This recording came out in 1983. The "we don't curse here" rule was broken twice, as "refreshing" and "cool" as many of us found it. The classic "Pink Houses" won a Grammy that year, and the thrust of the record was "beating the system" in ways that put "decision to buy" in the hands of the public "rock and roll" generation, and not those who disdain "cussing", even though "under your breath"...and ending with..."promises" that aren't real unless they come "from the heart".
This is truly a blog number and the answers will follow the questions so we're all on the same path here... 1. The title of this release was... 2. In which song does John quote himself as "...making him feel like a man after all..."? *hint/what the...? 3. In which song does he perennially put his assets down with the following announcement-"you know you can't touch that stuff without money or a brand new car?" and quotes the advice to be..."let me give you some advice,my friend... better learn to play guitar!" 4. "Who can I call to make my reservation for every groan in the dark?" is summed up nicely in which Mellencamp song?
answers... 1. Uh-huh 2. Lovin' Mother for ya' 3. Play Guitar 4. From the Heart I loved that...I will write next week-r.

if i ever get out of here, gonna give it all away, too rich to charity, all i need is the air we breathe....if we ever get out of here, if we ever get out of here- well, the rain exploded with a mighty crash, as we fell into the sun, and the first one said to the second one there, "i hope you're having fun..." Band on the run, band on the run, and the jailorman and sailor sam were searching...everyone, for the band on the run, the band on the run! well, the night was falling as the desert world began to settle down, in the town they're searching for us everywhere, but we never will be found! band on the run, band on the run...well, the blackbird inn was opening, and the guests were having fun, and the bells were ringing in the village square for the rabbit on the run and the county judge held a grudge, and search forevermore, for the band on the run oh the band on the run! wings/paul mccartney

NON-JOHN DISCUSSION / Music You Like / Let's see if we can make this cohesive and readable by Reisa Gerber
|
on: March 10, 2012, 12:30:25 pm

When I was first beginning my obsessional belief that mr. mellencamp was indeed "...probably singing songs about me...you're so vain, right?" was the very end of 1989, when Big Daddy came out...There are ways to squirm your way into the spirit and soul...of someone, especially like John, because if you buy, say, okay, Big Daddy, and memorize every song, for example, which I did, you can eventually reach the aspiration point of this person's aura...although technically a celebrity's boundaries are not usually the same is 'just you and me.hey, hey..what's new?" It's like sludging along the mud, and that begins harassment, which as I hear on television, is a fruitless attempt to be 'WOW" like your subject, so to speak, and yo know...you're shutting ot everything else...remember that I got a 3 on the music advanced placement test in 1974....it's an advanced measurement of your knowledge of music....so...knowing that my lyrics and tunes, by and large composed yourself by me...the american people certainly deserve to be left alone...they pay such a high price for justice...treatment and medicines and psychiatric units...well....here's one... Reisa says, 'I think John Mellencamp's music so so much, not just blabbing"... and 'Maybe I'll sing backup with him someday...' The psychiatrist immediately assumes that Reisa is harassing an icon and describes her label and medication...as delusions of grandeur. So. May I say thanks to the Lord...in these cases, where you think ''shit!" So you quickly start to mention Carly Simon, James Taylor, The Rolling Stones and Mick Jagger, Bonnie Raitt, Avril Lavigne, Madonna, The Black Crows, Paul McCartney and the said deceased John Lennon, and many others, Todd Rundgrem too, maybe you can undo the imprimir impossible....imprint in the a-hole's head that yo have delusions of grandeur...Yeah and of course, the Monkees....poor Davy Jones, and Whitney Young, only if just because her indefatigable energy, wherever the heck it came from, was beautiful...and so within the past 25 years, I have learned that to be a rock and roll fan requires more than alot of what I've made out of it....And that's why you know, I sent my facebook copy yesterday, with about five or six photographs that I put on the computer of me, my favorites...and one of mom and me, of course...and sent it to the Cherry Bomb Club Management in manhattan, New York...oh! Don McClean's American Pie...and again what I came up with was budgetting nad financial solvency! la de da...Is this treason or do we call it love? You will know its sentence someday, could never be tough enough...when love is needed, it is below a bother...and you know, when you turn away you turn your back on love...dying to prove that you are never wrong...You're so right, you'd rather be sad,but you won't go along. You're willing to walk.did you now? 'round what you're thinking of...never mind what anyone said, you turn your back on love..chorus:lonely days and lonely nights...will we ever get it right? Don't be blinded by the light! You turn your back on love..... When it is my love, how will you handle it? To it...there are two, wherever they are, if you can get the hit...If you believe it, love is quite strong enough...be together, honest and free, you turn your back on love...chorus: That is Crosby, Stills and Nash, from the recording 'Live It Up'...back in the 1980s I think....the middle to late years of that decade...'' Well, there you go...maybe an intense rock and roller wo sits in her light blue velvet armchair and maligns dad and mom and the sisters.... Doctor said I should actually be more constructive when I said mean things... the horrific issue was a family member's graduation from college that my psychiatrist recommended I skip...no wonder I'm such a mess, huh? Even that doctor, who is no longer caring for my mental health, had secrets, I'm sure...'You can't even fart?!!!" was her basic activity of daily living~ Hey, if John and his staff don't feel this entry is appropriate...or delete it, which will make me feel so sad and blue...then I understand amd will write again in a week or two. Thankyou...Reisa L. gerber p.s. Sorry for bothering the Cherry Bomb management in the city yesterday...

NON-JOHN DISCUSSION / Music You Like / CRAZY like a fox....how radical chiC....BY REISA L GERBER/QUOTES FROM jt AND X-C
|
on: November 07, 2011, 12:04:17 pm

after becoming a part of the community index, especially as john is singing on the radio or television, i can barely believe the heights to which i have grown...from sending multiple copies of NOONE CAN READ YOUR MIND, to a picture of myself, cuddly wuddly 110....alot for me... BOTH were sent to polygram and sent right back to me....I had boxes of old stuff that are mostly gone, and ....i was abraggin'! Embarassing when i was punchdown clown to actually being fired. I reapplied and was excepted and am working off my shit, i guess sixth password here. right? And now, thanks JT, JAMES TAYLOR...there are voices that inform me that nothing i have written...to the community...was really written by me...I do lately realize that sentences here and there do groove on my sister Jude...so I forget to feel guilty and go right on. however, ha ha...carly and her x-james have been caught themselves with a line that is used in two ha-ha songs....NOW, amicable situations always make it okay....rather than plagiarism, we say Oh my....it's so deeply tied into the song Mexico that you cant get out of the twisted meanings....the words are exact. Ready? AND this is my only contribution for a week....
carly simon...waiting by the gate....when they let jude out....a slight reference to a drag... james taylor...I am just a lighthouse on a ship out in the sea....i'm watching the sea...she's come halfway round the world to see the light and stay away from me..... twin sentence...even if you're feeling' healthy and strong,' you might like to sing along...James Taylor "But I'm counting on you to prove the doctors wrong. i'm imagining you' healthy and strong.' sincerely, a 'healthy and strong' ...... now i am able to read and i can see when songs don't seem to fit the discrepency of what we can do, assuming even our very best. A LYING MARXIST needs to feel comfortable slipping back to a capable thing...tony has received my promise that i made... once a week little burblette club...if/when my writing ever sounds understandable again. And, truly, if I miss out...on a closeup ticket to some man who 'THINKS I'M CRAZY'... then i had no purpose to mesh our musical solstice. I know george green just died. Could we have as a community, viable proof that john mellencamp is cool...WHO WHO WHO WHO WHO WHO WHO WHO WHO WHO else can stand up without crying, knowing exactly what REISA GERBER is trying to say...Hint...'Lighthouse' and 'counting' SAYS CARLY AND AS i repeat on you to prove the doctors wrong...' what? "Doctors have such little faith...they said you were a classic case...' there is a connection. And that is the news show for this week...I am assuming an andy rooney type of position. bye everyone....Sincerely, Reisa Gerber

i have an outrageous game for mellencamp fans called "John Mellencamp Trivial Pursuit..." i'll only present several samples and if you don't want it printed....then, man, it's not my community rag, right, it's yours... 1. in what song on john's album lonesome jubillee did he get stopped by illinois troopers trying to "shake his way out of private property"? 2. in what album did john's best friend say she's gonna "tear the tail" off the devil and run her fist down his throat?" 3. in what song did john tell this lonely little dancer to dance with him because she had noone to dance with her? 4. in what song did john sing about bein' married "two dozen times" and raising "ten children" on a workman's pay?....and last of all for this set.... 5, In what beautifully reminiscent song about the human condition did John sing about "We are masters and slaves, we are sunlight and shadow/all roads to the river..."/ Human Wheels/1992-3
