Luckily I bought TWO "No Better than This"  Tour shirts because I have worn them out. 

I had to make them V-Necks but the colors are fab and go with everything. 

I must say, John & the marketing team - always select a dark shirt - earthy.  But this one is my absolute favorite.  I can't believe its 8 years old!!
 

In 1999, my daughter, Natalie,  wrote this up for a school assignment.  It is a review of John's MSG show in NYC.   Reading this 19 years later makes me laugh.  It was only a month after my mom passed away - so John helped us all smile and heal that night (my daughter says the Meadowlands but meant to write Madison Square Garden - its all the same to a 10 year old).

I loved this song on tour and on the album - I liked seeing this on Colbert.  Too bad there wasn't a follow up political commentary!!  

Entertaining show, I just hope the blu-ray from Eagle Rock has an option to turn John’s post production commentary off. I don't like to complain but the commentary is a distraction from the show. I had such high hopes for this release, I loved the Plain Spoken tour show and I was excited for John's first concert video release but John's endless commentary during the whole show over the music makes this release only watchable once. I am really disappointed, they should have made John's commentary a optional track or bonus interview.

Oh man, I enjoyed the commentary...  His songs and writings are familiar to us all - yet he takes us one step closer to why he wrote them and what he was feeling.  I liked hearing what he had to say.  He's intense.  Or as Wayne & Garth say "Intensity in ten cities" lol

Ever since I heard Scarecrow, I "paid attention" to all JM lyrics.  John, you make singing your songs so natural - there is a natural, earthy flow to what you write; yet constructed in unpredictable ways.  If I feel young on a Monday, tired on a Tuesday or in love on a Friday night.. you have written a song to encourage that emotion.    Nothing more to say than "WELL DESERVED" and "I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!" - Love you Mr. JM  Congratulations. 

Tony, what other promoting can be done for John.. this as posted awhile ago..   I'm in New Jersey and would be happy to help!  That includes being in the front row for tomorrows Steven Colbert (he lives in the next town to me) appearance!  All I'd need is a ticket - my bosses are not in tomorrow - AND its a full moon.. - I'm thinking this should happen! lol

but in all seriousness - would love to help. 

II can't believe I scored myself a sweet VIP JM ticket.  Until then, I will be dreaming of that day.  I can't WAIT to dance and sing with all my Mellencamp brothers and sisters; singing songs I hold very close to the vest!! 

This isn't my first JM rodeo by any means but since this is the holy land of "Woodstock" please let me know of any fan club events that are happening;  I would be happy to partake and bring or make stuff.  Or perhaps, we ourselves can plan something magical!   If anyone is interested, send me a message.

Man I love this song.  I love JCM!!  When this came out - I was always blasting JCM on my turntable at home, which was above a popular Paterson NJ deli.  Totally Jersey this place.  The owner, my landlord, he was a charachter.  He was always calling into the sports shows and getting on air, live from his deli, cuz he was funny as hell.   This guy would stop me as I left my apartment and say "yo donna, you like Mellencamp dont you?  You play him all the time.. aye oh"    He would bust my chops on this subject many times.  But it was all good - he was bustin.  However, every Christmas I hear "I saw mommy kissing santa claus" and I think of the fun, young, chillaxin, simpler times ... with cool people just trying to live another day.. and that kindof stuff is one in the same with JCM..   Nothin like a Jersey Landlord who thinks hes a comic, just lovin some John Mellencamp.

I agree!  This exhibit is long overdue.  I've loved you to pieces since I first heard Jack and Diane on the radio while on break working as a Wooldworth's Waitress in Jersey!   I've been a loyal fan ever since.   I would love for a group of diehard loyal fans to trek up to Ohio for this - all together.  Just have our "john" talk.  Maybe Tony or the powers-that-be can make this happen?  I for sure would assist.  I have skills    I love your music so much, I relate to it.. and along with the Rolling Stones, you remain part of the true soundtrack of my life... Your music is in my vein's John!! I know the tour just ended.. maybe we need another one?  Lotsa Mellencamp love from Jersey!! Congrats JCM!!

Happy 30th Anniversary of SCARECROW - one of the best albums I ever heard.

Nothing but amazing memories..... singin to my little kids (grandmas theme); being all american (rock in the usa/small town/face of the nation); being young (rumbleseat); reflective (minutes to memories); being an adult (you've gotta stand for something) and just having a good time (Lonely O night).     

This album resides "framed" in my 'music hallway'.   One of my life's Greatest Gifts.
