Ticketmaster STINKS!
I got online and into the presale for the Winstar show on June 21st right at 10 am using the mellencamp.com presale password (thanks) and it took me to a place to see available seats on a map.
I was able to choose 3 seats in section VIP, row AA, seats, seats 16-18. After clicking on those seats, it showed that I had those seats selected/reserved and all I had to do was hit "Buy Tickets" to check out. I clicked on "buy tickets" and nothing happened, no progress bar or indication it was processing. I didn't want to lose those seats, so I waited. I moved my cursor to make sure the screen was still active, and other things would change as I hovered my cursor over them….but the "buy tickets" button wouldn't respond.
After about 10 minutes of no activity, I started to panic so I backed out and used the "find seats for me" approach, and after a bunch of refreshes I finally was able to buy much worse seats. The good news is that I'm in the house, the bad news is I don't have the greatest seats.
I called TM's customer service line, and they confirmed that once I selected those seats I should have been able to buy them, but they really didn't seem to care. I know this has nothing to do with mellencamp.com, but it sure is frustrating that Ticketmaster is so inept.
In case any of you are interested, I have attached a screenshot of what I was seeing.
It's a shame that Ticketmaster can screw up a great thing provided by mellencamp.com.
