Title: WE NEED JOHN MELLENCAMP IN WISCONSIN!
Post by: madtown1970 on March 08, 2011, 12:35:29 am
Saturday March 12th, farmers from across the dairyland will bring tractors and solidarity to the WI capitol to fight for labor rights and a just state budget. Rural communities will be disproportionately hurt by the cuts to education and badgercare, and farmers in Wisconsin stand with state workers, and all working and middle class families in the state. The event is sponsored by Family Farm Defenders and the Wisconsin Farmers Union. All farmers and eaters welcome and encouraged to come!

I hope more and more people keep protesting in Wisconsin. I am a teacher, married to a retired teacher and have a son who is a state employee. Educated people do not go into state jobs for the pay, they go into the field for the personal rewards and making a differnce in someone's life. If Wisconson has it's way, others states will follow. That will be a travesty. Then state emplyees will have to become "greeters" at Wal-mart in addition to their regular jobs  just to get by.
Write a song for us John!

Sincerely,
KY Teacher
