Just saw that John is playing 2 nights at Ravinia at the end of August.  Heard it was a nice venue.

Have been there many times and it's a nice venue, but it's set up for the CSO, Chicago Symphony, and you can't see the stage from most of the lawn. They sometimes put up video screens but the lawn is flat. You can bring in food and party on the lawn and listen to the show. The pavilion seats about 3,000 and the lawn around 20,000. There is limited parking there but they do set up parking in other lots and run buses. You will have to wait in line afterwards for the return trip. They also have a donor set up for early sales and some shows do sell out before they go on sale to the public. Check the website, Ravinia.org, for further information.

I also forgot they have a train stop right at the front gate. Don't know about the schedules as I have always driven in to shows.
