Title: Florida Shows 2015
Post by: jmellencampfan on July 08, 2015, 04:38:57 pm
I attended 4 of his 5 Florida shows, Jacksonville, Clearwater x 2 and Orlando.
All were AMAZING!!

Thanks to the Diamond Packages, I had incredible 2nd and 3rd row just off center seats!  Worth every dollar spent on them and the merchandise you get with them is some great Mellencamp gear!

Clearwater was 2 shows back to back, which made for an awesome Mellencamp weekend for sure. There was a guy in the crowd both nights and he was loud sometimes.  So the second night, JM surprised everyone, including the band, and changed the set list - adding 'Hurts So Good' -  and calling out that guy to come onstage to sing with him.  The guy was thrilled and apologized several times for being loud.  Mike W. was rolling his eyes and they were all laughing.  It was funny to see everyone scramble when JM made the change.  Pretty cool!

I absolutely adored the simple, bluesy breakdown of 'The Full Catastrophe'!!  Wow!!  This needs to be on an album, just the way he does it in the show.  Just incredible.

He didn't light up at any of the other shows I attended, except for during the above song in the Clearwater 2nd nite show.  I know it's bad to smoke, but what a great ambiance it added with the darkened stage.

I liked all the little stories he had when introducing some of the songs.
I was really glad he included a few songs from the play 'Ghost Brothers of Darkland County'.
He and the band covered a wide, career-spanning assortment of songs.
And I even got a wink from the man himself!  Happy day!

The show is in it's last leg... so if you are on the fence about seeing it... jump off and go get your tickets now!!
One of the best tours I have seen of John Mellencamp!
