Title: Best Cuttin' Heads Tour recording?
Post by: Maradona10 on October 05, 2013, 02:33:02 pm
Loved the hard-hitting arrangements of Full Catastrophe, Minutes to Memories and Paper in Fire from this tour, amongst others (not to mention that blistering Gimme Shelter to open); does anyone have a great-sounding show from this era they could share?

I will never forget Gimme Shelter with JM and the backup singers rockin out to that song at the front of the stage.  I loved every single tour, even if he didn't always play my favorites.

Another memory from Cuttin Heads was the real rose petals that dropped down during the last song at the first show of the tour in San Diego.  He also sang Human Wheels acoustically and I cried it was so moving.  Brought my daughter to her first concert for that show, she was 9 and now she is 21.  My youngest daughter, who is now 16 was born just 9.5 hours after the Mr Happy Go Lucky in Minneapolis where I live.  It was the first show at the Northrup and I started feeling contractions during "crumblin-down" and the entire balcony was moving.  Definitely helped start my labor, I swear!

I think the last tour and singing you know that devil, he thinks hes got you...  no, no, no!  was one of the best.

I'm sorry for forgetting to upload this over the weekend. I need to dig up the show, and my mind is on my Cardinals in the baseball playoffs right now. Each one of these games is like an emotional roller coaster and JM stuff is taking a back seat right now. I promise I will put this show up for you. Please remind me again if I forget, or PM me if you don't want to post it here. You aren't bothering me, so feel free to reach out every day if need be, but I will get this up soon. I promise.

I was at that San Diego show...incredible version of Gimme Shelter.  We sat right next to John's daughter and her friend + Moe Z's wife and kid were nearby as well.  Great, great show.
