Title: Setlist from Summer Tour Opener Post by: walktall2010 on June 21, 2014, 08:07:29 am Here's the setlist from last night's summer tour opener in Oklahoma:
1. Human Wheels 2. Troubled Man (new song) 3. Check It Out 4. Jack and Diane 5. Longest Days 6. Small Town 7. Rain on the Scarecrow 8. Paper in Fire 9. Crumblin' Down 10. R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A. 11. Pink Houses 12. Authority Song / Land of 1000 Dances 13. Cherry Bomb Edit: "Your Life Is Now" was originally listed in the slot where "Longest Days" was, and obviously somebody mixed up the titles. "Your Life is Now" was not played, and Longest Days was. I believe "Jack and Diane," "Longest Days" and "Small Town" were delivered solo acoustic, the rest of the songs were performed with the full band. Title: Re: Setlist from Summer Tour Opener Post by: txlee on June 21, 2014, 09:19:44 am You didn't mention he only played for 75 minutes. A real shame it Appears John is mailing in these shows. Only 13 songs and shorter than a movie. A fan here too. Though if I could sell the second night ticket I would.

Did you happen to get any video from this show? Title: Re: Setlist from Summer Tour Opener Post by: txlee on June 21, 2014, 04:11:47 pm No video. John had it locked down on cameras and phones. I would check on Youtube. Personally I wouldn't waste the extra energy looking the show was like any other except SHORT.

With a catalogue like Mellencamp's...that's sad. Title: Re: Setlist from Summer Tour Opener Post by: turmbird on July 09, 2014, 06:12:27 am some people always seem to find something to moan about.
no tour, short tour, arena tour, small venue tour, tour not in any region, setlist changing, setlist not changing, new songs, old songs.....all seems to be wrong sometimes. we all should be happy, John keeps us alive with fantastic music for decades now. and compared to other superstars from the 80s, he is still very creative and keeps surprising us with any release. I live in germany and am used to seeing him live once in 20 years. i would pay anything to see him performing just a couple of songs every year, no matter what songs. I wish anyone who is attending a show a great evening! and I hope after the release of the new album a european tour will be included again. Berlinīs waiting :) Title: Re: Setlist from Summer Tour Opener Post by: WeirdHenry163 on September 16, 2014, 07:28:33 pm Wow, just 13 songs. That's crazy, surely?!? Look at what Seger,Springsteen,Hiatt,Fogerty, Big Head Todd, etc do with their shows. Seriously 100.00 dollars and 13 songs? New bands with only one record play this plus 5 covers! Well i have good seats for Nashville Ryman #1 and if I get this treatment it most certainly will be the last time i pay to see JM. The summer tour was in casinos, which pay an artist and ask that they not play a long set. Their goal is to get people into their casino to gamble, eat and spend money, not enjoy a long concert. When John headlines his own tour, as he will do on the Plain Spoken tour, he will play a full set. Expect a minimum of 90 minutes and 18 songs with the possibility of two hours and 24 songs within reason. The beginning of the No Better Than This tour was 2 hours and 24 songs, and he even played 25 songs in Lowell, Mass. in February 2011. You will get your money's worth. |
