Although there are denials, I believe there's much truth to it. But bet the union doesn't occur in the U.S. Wait and see what transpires.

Mike Leonard, the guy who wrote that blurb, is also reporting via Twitter that rumor has it John has rented out Farm Bloomington -- an organic restaurant in downtown Bloomington -- in June for some sort of private event. Who knows if this is what it's for or not. I ate at this place when I was in Bloomington last year and the waiter told me John rented out the downstairs area for his private New Years Eve party on Dec. 31, 2009, so he obviously likes the joint. We'll see if there's anything to it or not.

I agree. It could simply be a party for a freind or something.

Fact of the matter is, if they do get married(wherever, whenever) they certainly won't tell the press anything about it. That's for sure.
Ironically they were seen eating in Farm restaurant tonight. ;)

Not even two days later that same Herald Times now report they were wrong (DUH!). Of course, they restricted access their follow-up article for members-only. Silly really.

There probably needs to be a corollary saying for Internet reports, where the batting average for accuracy is far less than .500.

John Mellencamp and Meg Ryan have no plans to marry, despite a report that raced across the world early this week.

“John and Meg are in a relationship but there are no plans for marriage,” said Tim Elsner, Mellencamp’s accountant and office manager. “There’s not even been any discussion of it.”

Elsner said Mellencamp was annoyed by the report because it was so “out there.” Some accounts on the Internet included reported reactions from family members and similar fiction.

“Basically it’s just another celebrity rumor and there’s no truth to it. They’re together, they’re in a relationship but they’re not talking about marriage. They’re happy where they are,” Elsner said.

I just have the attitude as "we shall see". (whatever will be will be)

We also were told that John and Meg were "just" working on the musical when the pictures first surfaced.

I would think one might have had enough of marriage after 3 wives, but who knows!

Pretty sure this is the first confirmation that they actually are a "couple."

Well you can't believe most of what you hear if any of it.  Although, John has not spent much of his adult life unmarried so who knows?  Maybe they will secretly get married when he is on tour in Europe this summer.  Time will tell and I just hope that he finds peace and happiness in this messed up world. 

Doubt It. Just read her son is doing a Film(the Hunger Games) down south till Aug.
Doubt she would get married without him or any of her family there.

BTW T bone bennett is doing some of the music for Hunger games.
