How To Post A Picture?

This question might have already popped up on here, and I'm sorry if it did, but how do you post pictures on here? Specifically pictures saved on your computer? I tried clicking the "insert image" button, and then [img]/[img] appears, and I don't know what goes in there. A link? It's a little confusing to me and I need a bit of clarification. Thanks! :)
