The Speaking Clock Revue - Two Multi-Artist Extravaganza Shows Announced

John Mellencamp is joining the producer of his last two albums, T Bone Burnett, the man he referred to last week at the Americana Music awards as "his musical conscience," for a pair of shows in Boston in New York city as a part of The Speaking Clock Revue.

The shows will be a revue style show with a T Bone selected house band backing a wide variety of artists including: John Mellencamp, Elton John & Leon Russell, Elvis Costello, Gregg Allman, Ralph Stanley, Jeff  Bridges, Punch Brothers, Karen Elson, and newcomers The Secret Sisters. In addition, Neko Case and Jim James from My Morning Jacket will join the lineup in Boston and New York respectively.

Awesome -- thanks for letting us know. Is John playing his songs or cover songs at these two shows? Kinda doubt he would let a house band play his songs knowing how particular he is, but I could be wrong.

Well this won't be any house band, this will be a T Bone Burnett house band, probably some of the same guys who played on No Better Than This. I expect John's songs to focus on his work with T Bone. A hit or two seems possible. Gotta expect short sets or a round robin setup with so many artists.
