As we all know almost all of John’s songs has had some impact on our lives one way or another. I  remember at 15 yrs old when I first laid eyes on him, he was on American Bandstand singing “Small Paradise” I was definitely love struck.

Here are the following songs that have impacted me on different levels of my life:

“Rain on the Scarecrow” was important song when my family was having farm issues.  Eventually my dad had to sell the farm too like the others.
“Paper in Fire” was very heart felt. “ She had a dream And boy it was a good one So she chased after her dream With much desire But when she got too close To her expectations Well the dream burned up Like paper in fire” It reminded me of  my dreams of becoming a painter went down the drain.  I also loved the video of that song. (Sorry another Love struck moment.)
“Country Gentleman” My father (God Rest his Soul) got a kick out of that song. He said that song describes every politician in American.
“Your life is Now” has to be the most heart felt song for me. “See the moon roll across the stars, See the seasons turn like a heart, Your father’s days are lost to you, This is your time here to do what you will do. Your life is now.“ When my dad died, this song was playing in the car and I just cried. Not only did it make me think of my dad’s life but my own as well. I realized when I heard this song, I can still make a difference in my life.
“Right Behind Me” “I know Jesus, and I know the devil They're both inside of me all the time  This ain't no picnic that I'm living Just a resting place before it's time to go You see the devil, he thinks he got me He ain't got me, no.” John knows too well that the devil is right there to steer us in the wrong direction and away from our destiny. The devil takes all different forms and raps their arms around our necks to lead us astray from our destiny, especially when we don’t know what that is actually.

Happy New Year John!
Keep your eye on God and keep being his messenger
