MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Ticket & Tour Questions / Re: Camera Policy

I went to a few Mark Knopfler shows a few months back and just before the show started an announcement was made concerning the cameras and what a nuisance they are to the band and others. It's really nice not to be annoyed. If you want a really good picture down load it from the web. I'm guilty of the same offense, but I no longer do it.

And from what I've read, viewed on film and heard from others it's all about sound in the Ryman. All those nice up front seats are a novelty compared to the sound the rest of the common folk will experience. I'm telling you, I've had dreams about the place. If I come I'm bringing milk duds for sure.

Ditto on the history of the Ryman. I've had dreams about the place and I've never been there. I have no plans to go to Nashville the 3rd of November, but you never know, you just never know. So I bought what I believe to be a great seat in the balcony, Row A, just in case. After all, it's the Ryman.
it's a cool place Rich. i was there a couple of years ago. didn't see a show or anything, but did take a 'tour'. my blood is rich in country music, and after all the years of hearing and seeing my parents listen to, talk about, and watching all the stars of the Grand Ole Opry, it was a treat. to me, it was one of those 'think of all the people who have been here' kinda moments. we got to see the dressing rooms, backstage, and you could stand in 'the circle' and have your picture taken. and while you're in Nashville (wink wink), the Country Music Hall of Fame is well worth the time and money if you have any interest in, or knowledge of, that genre. it starts 'way back in the day' and progresses through modern day. i really enjoyed it. see ya in Nashville! (it's early enough to get decent airfare, lol) Paula, My FAVORITE of all time country star was fired from the Oprey and I'm by no means an expert but I am aware of the history of the Ryman. The tour is a definite must for a Californian who's has never been to Nashville. But I have been to Disneyland three times in my life.

Personally I's substitute Pieta Brown and Bo Ramsey for the Kenny Chestney. He doesn't do a thing for me and he's already been in the line up before. I guess it will be a good time to hit the chow line and let the rest of the folks enjoy that part of the show.

MELLENCAMP.COM ANNOUNCEMENTS / Ticket & Tour Questions / Re: Issues with Ticketmaster
|

Anybody else find it impossible to get tickets this morning? I've had bad luck in the past (flew to Vegas once, requested the wrong date for tickets (which you never see until Will Call), bought air and hotel around that date (that I requested, in writing, even though it was incorrect), showed up at Hard Rock - THE NIGHT AFTER THE SHOW - YUP, it was luvly) but this was more frustrating, because I checked and rehearsed, knowing my bad luck. I had two Pit VIP seats ready and didn't know my Ticketmaster Password (a warning that would have been good, since they don't have a foolproof plan if you hapen to be one of the unlucky ones who doesn't receive it and lose your seats). As the clock ticked (it only gave me 2 minutes my FIRST try - noticed that time allotment subsequently increased in my later attempts - oh, and you didn't need a password for the VIP tickets, but you did for the regular - ?), I requested my temporary password, which never came. I tried to request a new one and it told me I could not, because I had already requested one in the last 24 hours. I tried to set up a new account, but I could not, because I already had one at my email address. (At this point, I'm on my third set of seats, about 10th row instead of front). Just checked my spam folder. No temporary password. Tried calling, sat on hold, finally used automated, which told me the tickets weren't on sale yet. :-0 OMG I have none. I waited for John to come to this venue for 25 years. You would think Ticketmaster would have this figured out by now. If they can't, why do the artists use them? Ugh. And no, venting has not made me feel better. I think Ticketmaster should take of this. What do you think my chances are of that?!
