4  NON-JOHN DISCUSSION / The Melting Pot / Paintings of John Mellencamp at SICA on: March 23, 2011, 11:20:13 am
All,

The Southern Indiana Center for the Arts in Seymour Indiana will present "Paintings of John Mellencamp" on May 6 & 7th. A fan who owns 12 of John's paintings has graciously agreed to exhibit them at the Art Center.  The exhibit will include these 12 plus the other Mellencamp paintings that are permanently exhibited as well as some of Marilyn Mellencamp’s paintings.

The Friday evening (May 6) will be a VIP reception for Art Center members only.  Dave Parman (Brother of Director Dick Parman and who played in John's band in the early days) will play Mellencamp music in the house.

On Saturday the exhibit will be opened to the public and Bobby Clark will be performing Mellencamp music in the evening.  The exhibits are free with donations accepted.

A new SICA poster is being made from John's painting "Man in Red Shirt” and will be available for sale at the exhibit and during the MTM garden raffle/fund raiser to be announced later.

Doug

Hi everyone, this is Doug in Indy.

I've been a Mellenhead since before I ever heard the term. Not hardly a day goes by without listening to some of JM's music. He creates the soundtrack to my life it seems...

I am digging the new website format. very nice!
