I LOVE that  accoustic version of Lonely Ol' Night.  It became a whole new song when done that way, in fact I think the real meaning in that song came through so much better accousticly than it did on Scarecrow.....and I loved it on Scarecrow!

Wow, that's a tough question.

I have to admit that the 'hits' are rarely my favourites these days even though they must of been what caught my attention in the first place. Well, that and those blue eyes.....give me a break, I was 15 when I first found JM!!   Wink

I think thangs are continually changing, depending on what is going on in my life, but I tend to go back to certain songs to give me strength, inspiration, or even clarity.  It's hard to pin down one song as a favourite, I just know that if I feel a 'need' for some words to sort out my feelings, then burried somewhere on one of JM's albums, there will be song with the just the right lyrics and just the right mood for what I need at that moment.

This probably doesn't answer you question, but it's the best I answer I've got.

It appears that our prayers and good thoughts are working.

News today is that he has tried to open his eyes.

the lastest on the news is that he is stable.

It is going to be a long road to recovery for Molly, but so far, so good.

Thanks Walktall for your reply.  We here in Australia all love to have a laugh at Molly's expense, but we also know what a huge contribution Molly has made to the music industry....not just here in Australia, but Internationally aswell.

Molly is still not out of the woods, but is hanging in there.  I'm sure everyone's thoughts and prayers are appreciated by Molly and his family.

Please spare  thought / prayer for Molly.

Molly Meldrum and JM go way back.  It was with Molly's influence that I Need A Lover became a hit in Australia in 1978, and it was with Molly that JM had war of words about the same time.  But JM and Molly got over their differences and now have a lot of respect for each other with Molly featuring in JM's art.

Hey Alex....I live in Perth (Australia, not Scotland!) and I also taped that show off Aussie radio onto cassette way back when.  A very kind member from the Human Wheels group transfered it onto cd for me a few years back, although I had him take the commercials out.  He also transfered another cassette I taped from the radio for me, that was John and the band at Belmont Mall Studio (with Timothy White) playing tracks from The Lonesome Jubilee.  It a great listen.  I shared these with some US and UK Mellenheads so I know that there are copies out there somewhere.  I may even have a couple of discs kicking around the house if I look hard enough.
