Great that the neutral 4 raved about Mellencamp. I like both artists but if I had to pick between the two, it has to be John. I relate to his work much more. Saw his show on this tour and it was simply AMAZING. Bought tickets to 2 more shows this tour, couldn't pass up the opportunity.

I thought the concert was absolutely FANTASTIC! John and band never disappoint. I loved hearing the new songs and the over all atmosphere of concert was thrilling. Even in the balcony, the view was decent (minus the 4 drunks in front of us who blocked John out of view for about 85% of the show). John sounded really good as well, sorry to hear that he's still affected by the cold from MN. It didn't take away anything from his performance--it was one of the best concerts I've seen in a long time and was filled with many happy memories.
A large portion of the audience started singing the chorus of Jack and Diane at the wrong time, which was a little amusing. Nothing beats hearing the Authority Song live.
Fantastic time. Looking forward to our next Mellencamp concert!!

As a hardcore Mellenhead, I'd love to hear his rarities, but I have CDs for that. Most importantly, he needs to please himself with the songs he chooses. You have to accommodate and I think his set list does just that. Like I said, not everybody going to see him this tour has seen him before. They want to hear the old favorites, and so do I. Nothing beats the classic songs. I for one am thrilled to see The Authority Song on the set list.

I'm pretty much happy with whatever he chooses to play. Maybe he's played a lot of these same songs before but we still enjoy hearing them live. Besides, for the people who haven't seen him before, it's special to hear the old favorites.

I'm a big fan of the Troubled Man video. Probably my favorite on the new album, next to Blue Charlotte, though I do enjoy Sometimes There's God. They're all gems. I know we want to hear some hits when he performs in concert, but I'd love to hear him sing the whole album live. A true Mellencamp masterpiece.

Your stories about how John and his music have intersected with your life:
I've loved John's music since I first heard R.O.C.K. In The U.S.A. and The Authority Song. His music speaks to me in a way few other artists can. He speaks about the real issues and has made me feel through his music that he "gets it". I appreciate an artist who is in tune with the social issues. John's music gives me hope and inspires me to do better in this world and try to alleviate the suffering.
