"I was standing in the underground parking lot in the Chateau Marmont [hotel] in Los Angeles. Some guy that worked for me ran up and said, 'Hey, John Lennon just got killed.' I couldn't believe it. Then it was on the news. Everybody went out and ate sushi and talked about it. We ran into some other musicians at the sushi bar and talked to them about it. Post by: mtotch123 on December 08, 2010, 04:57:30 pm I remember where I was....my clock alarm woke me up with the news. All I could think about was my best friend from school who had moved away. John Lennon was to her as John Mellencamp is to me....only more so.....she followed the Beatles and particularly Lennon from day 1. I felt SO bad for her, and still do. She actually secluded herself for many days after.

Last week, however, I saw a piece on the Chateau Marmont on CBS Sunday Morning! It's interesting that he was hanging out there! Quite the place from what I understand...Hollywood elite hot spot!
