Title: Eyes on the Prize - new single Post by: Swell67 on November 02, 2018, 06:12:33 pm Though I have heard this song a few times before by different artists, I was keen to hear John's version again.
So, I have had my first listen of the newly recorded version of - Eyes on the Prize [cover] - Other People's Stuff. It reminded me a lot of the sound quality achieved on the 'No Better Than This' CD / album. IMHO - slick rhythm and something to groove to. I can't wait to hear this live. I am a big fan ...love his shows and energy...but this song does not cut it. Disappointing ....it's not rock it's not country ....it's terrible. If I introduced this song to non JM fans ...they'd say WTF is this ? that was my thinking too
Most of the songs on the new album were already available on another artist's cd, etc. I wish he put out 'new' stuff that wasn't available on iTunes etc already i pre-ordered the album ....hope it's a lot better than this song |
