Title: Australian Scarecrow Radio Special Post by: TonyBClubManager on October 07, 2010, 02:02:22 pm I know we have some friends "down under" here so wanted to pass this on. I was contacted by someone from this radio group that wanted to let John's fans know about the special!
This Sunday afternoon October 10th at 6pm AEST if you’re in Australia, Classic Rock 95.3 FM Sydney, and Classic Rock 91.5 FM Melbourne will be playing the legendary John Mellencamp Scarecrow album in its entirety, commercial free. If you are not in Melbourne or Sydney, you can stream it live online at www.classicrockfm.com.au or connect with them on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/classicrockfm Title: Re: Australian Scarecrow Radio Special Post by: walktall2010 on October 07, 2010, 04:44:42 pm If only John would do something similar for the 25th anniversary of Scarecrow like Springsteen is for the 30th anniversary of Darkness on the Edge of Town (a great documentary on the making of Darkness airs on HBO tonight at 9pm Eastern). I realize that John has a busy slate this year and that a third release would probably constitute "flooding the market" with product, but even if he didn't release it until next year, the 26th anniversary, it would be fine (Darkness originally came out in 1978, so this is really the 32nd year anniversary). A documentary about the making of the album and a disc of songs that didn't make the album ("Carolina Shag" being one of them, but there are many others) along with a DVD or CD of a show from the great Scarecrow Tour would be a dream come true for fans. I really wish John would do more cool stuff like this. Bruce fans are in heaven with the expanded "Darkness" package that is coming out Nov. 16; if only John would follow this blueprint with his classic releases like Scarecrow and The Lonesome Jubilee we'd all be in for a major treat. Maybe someday.
